  • Yeah, non-USA for this atm, as much fun as it would be to plug such a system into an apartment.

I believe that the US requires that a direct-feed system has to plug into a physical kill switch setup to prevent back-feed of power during an outage.

    Still pretty neat, though!

  • To add to this, I also say come up with a plan to use your stockpile so that it doesn't just sit on the shelf for decades. Replenish what you use as you use it so that you discover that it expired long before you needed it.

I've also heard the recommendation for keeping a stash of simple grains and beans on hand with the intent of sharing every once and while during a crises. People are going to realize that you have a supply eventually, but if you convince them that all you have is meager offerings, the desperate are more likely to raid elsewhere for a better meal.

Oh, and I wouldn't rely on a rain barrel without some form of filtration. There's a bit of microplastic in every drop!

  • I ended up buying a collapsible air drying rack and a separate portable washer+spin dryer for my old rental place.

The washer drained into the shower and lived behind the bathroom door once I got some extra hoses for it.

The dryer ended up living in front of the water heater cabinet for the upstairs unit.

The whole kit payed for itself after about 20 weeks with how much the Laundromat was charging.

  • Have you seen the idiots out on the road these days?

However, as far as turn signals go, this is one of the less egregious designs. Car manufacturers are given too much leeway in what is allowed for such systems, like putting them between headlights or making them use the same circuits as the brake lights instead of a dedicated light.

  • Hellcard is an isometric dungeon looter that lets you customize how long the dungeon should be, time-wise. So, of you've got, say, 15 minutes, bam! 15-minute dungeon run.

I'm not sure how precise it is, but the devs really went out of their way for the feature!
