Nova Launcher, savior of cruft-filled Android phones, is on life support
  • This is super sad, but it's not like we don't still have a ton of options. Neo Launcher, Lawnchair, etc.

  • End of an era: Nova Launcher's parent company lays off practically everyone
  • I've been using Neo Launcher for a while, no complaints

  • I personally use Kanary because it seemed better than Privacy Bee and it was cheaper than Optery. Though I do believe Optery is most likely the best overall, Kanary seemed to be the best for the price.

  • Thank you so much for such a detailed answer!

  • What are some privacy focused forms of entertainment?
  • Personally I haven't really changed anything about my entertainment other than how I attain it. Torrented movies, shows, and books, cracked games, and ad+sponsor blocked YT via Piped mean I get all the same entertainment as ever if not more (plus I actually own it forever). The only thing I'll admit I miss a bit is Reddit.

  • Right now I'm using a Pi 4 8GB in the Argon case running KonstaKang's LineageOS Android TV build for Pi and the only con is that it can't seem to play 4K media very well. But it does a good enough job of replacing my FireTV for everything else.

  • Matrix Webhook Help

So I've been trying to setup the nim65s/matrix-webhook Docker container but cannot for the life of me get it to work.

Has anybody managed to get this up and running? I had it on my Pi 4, but since moving to the Pi 5 cannot swing it.

It should be easy, just passing along environment variables, but nothing I've tried works and I can never get any logs or output from the container for clues.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Capital One Mobile App Not Working

Has anybody else had problems using the Capital One mobile app? I have a Samsung S21 Ultra 5G that I thoroughly degoogled and de-Samsung'd over a year ago. No problems running any other apps including Key Bank, Charles Schwab, Tile, etc. but Capital One will not even load to the login screen. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Missing Icons

For a while now my Librewolf installation has been very weird with icons, converting them to little rectangles with what looks like UTF codes in them. On Piped for example, instead of the play icon it shows the literal word "play". Anybody know what may be causing this and/or how to fix it?

How To Improve Pi 5 Cooling

So I've got an 8GB Pi 5 with the offical Active Cooler and then the Pineberry NVME HAT on top in the Pi52 tall alumnium cooling case and thermals are not great. Looking for guidance and/or recommendations.

I already have the active cooler so I'm all out of fan headers, and I have 3 hard drives plugged in so I'm not sure about powering a whole USB fan.

I saw that Noctua finally came out with their desk fan and thought that may be a perfect solution. I was thinking of just slapping it under the Pi, but I was wondering if this would even make a difference.

Also wondering what the best configuration would be between push/pull & bottom/top or if anybody has better ideas, I'm all ears. Thank y'all!
