How often do you change bedding and bath towels?
  • And I’m pretty clean each time too so it’s not exactly collecting a ton of dirty. If it’s used for something other than me fresh out of the shower then it goes straight in the wash. Otherwise it gets washed when I do laundry each week.

  • WinampDesktop/winamp - Licence violates github TOS · Issue #6
  • I feel like this repo is bait. The license is bad and violates the TOS but if they can convince a judge that it’s legally binding then they already have over a hundred targets who have forked it. They really messed up by including the shoutcast source and some Dolby code, although the Dolby stuff is questionable.

  • Google Search To Show If An Image Is AI Generated, Edited Or Taken With Camera.
  • I watched a video on methods for detecting AI generation in images. One of the methods was comparing the noise on different color channels. Cameras have different noise in different channels while AI doesn’t. There is also stuff like JPG compression artifacts in other image formats.

So there are technical solutions to it but I wouldn’t know how to automate them.

  • I watched Session 9 for the first time
  • Love this movie. It’s a bit slow for people addicted to action flicks but I love how the whole plot is slowly unveiled until it erupts at the end. Psychological horror with a bit of supernatural because you can never really tell if whets happening is just him going insane or if he was influenced by other forces. The use of the recordings to slowly ramp up the tension was great.

  • Humble Bundle - Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld
  • Part of what makes the books brilliant is that, while there is connectivity between some of them, they are all self contained. Pratchett managed to do this without being repetitive or assuming that the reader has read all the books before the one being read. There are times when characters refer to previous books but it never happens in a way that makes you feel like you are missing something. It is useful to read the different series in order but not necessary.

  • Humble Bundle - Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld
  • They are a parody of modern life through the lens of fantastical places, characters, and events that occur on the discworld. It’s a flat land supported by 4 elephants sitting on the back of a space turtle.

There are several mini series within the collection that feature recurring characters and different story archetypes. There are the witches, a coven of 3 witches who tend to be helpful even if they don’t want to be. The night watch features Sam Vimes and other policemen of the major city of discworld who stumble through investigations. Deaths daughter features a girl who was adopted and raised by the personification of death, tall guy, kinda skinny, TALKS LIKE THIS. And the wizards college where magic is studied and knowledge is collected but rarely used.

Aside from those mini series there are lots of stand alone stories and even the books in the mini series can be read as standalone. There is no right or wrong place to start but there are some recommended reading orders that can help you decide where you want to dive in.

I may have some stuff omitted or incorrect. It has been a while since I have read the books but they maintain their position at the front and center of my bookshelf.

  • Can a Linux installation be run as a VM in Windows?
  • I did this back in 2008 using virtual box. Had a dual boot system and got curious as to whether or not I could boot the Linux partition as a VM. I don’t remember it being difficult to do but this was before EFI and secure boot so those may cause trouble. I’m not 100% sure I used virtual box either :/
