If another species is intelligent enough to cross the vastness of space to reach us they're going to be intelligent enough to stay far away from us or eradicate us.
And I wouldn't blame them for either.
We don’t with that attitude.
Not sure if you noticed, but the attitude in America is dominated by proud ignorance and failure to discern real data from propaganda.
Rather than assuming things are as bad as they could possibly be, they aren’t
Not yet, but the stage is set for that scenario.
I recommend using humor as a coping mechanism.
That time is past.
Yup.
You can kiss Trump ever seeing consequences for his crimes goodbye.
Welcome to the new America.
Elections have consequences and Americans are simply too stupid to maintain a democracy. So we won't have one much longer.
I hate them more than Trump supporters, if we're being honest. At least Trump supporters are straight forward about being horrible human beings and aren't trying to mask their awful decisions behind a facade of morality.
Lol.
The only way this society is going is down.
Hope you're all ready for the shittiest ride ever.
No idea why anyone that's not racist, sexist, or has a reasonable level of intelligence is still on that site.
My friend was way into it for news directly from journalists and had been on the site since the beginning. As soon as Trump's victory was secure he deleted his account and moved to BlueSky.
Time to leave that site to the deplorables and move on.
It’s a week since election day.
You don't understand. We ALREADY tried the Trump thing and it failed miserably. We aren't even done living with the negative effects of that experience. We have one of the most poignant examples in history of what creeping fascism/authoritarianism can lead to. There are people still alive today that can tell us about it.
We don't listen. We don't learn.
This was the most blatant decision we’re ever likely to make as a society in our lifetimes so far.
We're doubtful to ever experience a more black and white election than what we just experienced. And we still managed to fail.
Why is it on Democrats to treat proudly ignorant, deplorable people with respect?
Why are Democrats held to higher standards?
You're a fool that changes the topic of discussion when you find yourself losing an argument.
To be honest, I could give a fuck less about the opinion of some loser that thinks Biden's COVID response was worse than Trump's. You aren't an intelligent person, and therefore your opinion means less to me than nothing, because it holds no value.
The literal ex-commander of the Gaza division doesn’t share your denialism. about Israel’s chances.
Gonna need more than the opinion of an ex-commander. I've heard a lot of ex-military say things. Look at Michael Flynn. Not exactly an icon of honesty and trustworthyness.
Like I said… you give white supremacism a lot of credit.
That's because history has taught me to be very, very concerned with the capabilities of organized white supremacism.
It’s almost as if liberalism simply accepts that a bit of fascism every now and then is simply the cost of doing business.
This seems like an emotional opinion.
I guess it’s good you’re learning something from them.
It's sad that you're not. Pretty easy lesson to learn. Going completely over your head. Like most of the topics you attempt to comment on.
But if we don’t learn from out mistakes
We already haven't.
it’s likely we will keep making them.
We already have.
It isn't just that we failed a test. We failed the most obvious test we could have possibly been given. This was the most blatant decision we're ever likely to make as a society in our lifetimes. And we utterfly failed.
Literally doesn't matter now.
My attitude doesn't make ignorant people less ignorant. Those people are going to be ignorant no matter what I say or do. That's the nature of ignorance.
Lol. You didn't just move the goalposts. You put them on a rocket and fired them into orbit.
Ironically, your response is classic Reddit troll fare.
Sorry, kiddo. But I've been here for a week now and I can tell you it is noticably different than Reddit, although with a small percentage of very Reddit commenters, such as yourself.
I'm sure as the user base increases the percentage of commenters like yourself will remain the same, but the total number will increase. So, basically the story of Reddit all over again. But until then, I think I'll enjoy this platform more.
The US isn’t standing in their way. Palestinians with RPG-7s are standing in their way.
If you think Palestine is going to survive for much longer, then you have an optimism I can only dream of. Even if Trump simply stands out of the way. Which is unlikely, because Donald Trump only helps those who can benefit him and Israel can benefit him. So expect more of our BOOM BOOMs to end up there in the near future.
Palestine is done.
one by one the colonialist chickens was forced to come home to roost after the failure of white supremacism
Yes, and the last time they got REAL power it took millions of lives and an unquantifiable amount of money/resources to put them back down.
Yeah, and it's not just economic woes we have to worry about. We're going to backslide as a democracy and ethically as a nation. We're going to lose allies. NATO is going to be impacted and that makes the world a much more dangerous place.
We're going to be feeling this decline for a very long time. Elections have far reaching consequences and we apparently did not learn that from Trump's 1st failed presidency.
Dems had the presidency and Congress
When and for how long? Because they had a majority for a short time at the beginning of Biden's presidency but two "Democrats" kept voting against Democrat legislation, destroying their very slight majority. One of them has since declared themselves independent and has been voted out of Congress.
you didn’t hear a single one of them talk about raising wages
Biden had to use exectutive order to raise the minimum wage of federal contractors, because he can do that without Congress, because they're federal employees. Another Biden accomplishment that went right over your head. It's also largely up to states to determine minimum wage. In California we just voted on raising the minimum wage higher than it already is, which I believe is $15, which is higher than a federal minimum wage increase would be anyways.
addressing corporate corruption
Democrats introduced an anti-corruption bill in 2019. Again, when they actually held a majority for a short period in Biden's presidency, those two pesky "Democrats" kept voting their legislation down. One of them was making big money from the oil industry. Again, it was a majority, but an ultra-slim majority. Can't get much done with that.
You need to understand that your opinions are formed from a place of ignorance. You are commenting, and voting, from a standpoint of ignorance. Which is largely why you are a Green Party voter. A party that cannot, and will not, win an election, because they haven't done the national canvassing necessary to build a coalition that can actually win federal elections.
We're very sorry we weren't nicer to the proudly ignorant and morally devoid.
