Option to Hide Self Post Thumbnails?
  • Yes I’m referring to this on self posts. Basically posts that don’t have a photo or any media: https://imgur.com/a/OxTOsGV

  • Option to Hide Self Post Thumbnails?

This app gets an automatic 10/10 from me just for the feature of hiding the nav bars on scroll. However is there a way to hide the thumbnails on self posts?

Is this app still being developed?
  • Omg wow! Thank you. Had no idea about this app until today. Now I’m wondering why it isn’t more popular but yes thank you for the suggestion

  • Is this app still being developed?
  • Yeah if you’re still signed in and haven’t been plagued with a reason to sign out, it’s an amazing app.

But signing into the app is pretty much impossible at this point or should definitely not require so much effort just to simply log into my account. This was an issue on the beta and people reported it. A workaround I did was installing an older build but since the beta is nonexistent now, I’m just stuck with this annoying bug.

Really sad because yes out of all the Lemmy apps, it was the only one that had the “hide bars on scroll” feature Apollo had. It’s crazy to me that people can browse with the nav bars constantly on display. I find them so distracting and useless when I’m actually scrolling through content.

  • Pro?
  • Yeah I can’t even log in the app anymore after deleting it. It keeps telling me that the my username or password is wrong which I know it’s not since I’m able to log in on the browser and in other Lemmy clients.

  • Is this app still being developed?

I still can’t log in for whatever reason It was my favorite Lemmy client until I suddenly could not log into my account anymore. I even was paying for a subscription.

The log in process is horrible. If you leave the app with any log in information in the fields, it removes them when returning.

Not to mention I can’t even sign in. Ridiculous.

Looking at the app on the App Store, it seems it hasn’t had any updates in over 4 months so I’m assuming it’s dead?

Voyager seems to be the second most used client, according to poll
  • Thanks for the recommendation! Unfortunately I'm on iOS and Sync isn't available :(

  • What Lemmy Client(s) Do You Use?
  • Yes, try Avelon OP! It’s really good. The UI is so smooth. Scrolling. And it has the ability to hide bars on scroll. It seems I’m the only one who cares about this feature haha but to me it makes content look much better without the navigation bars constantly being on display.

  • Avelon is phenomenal. Especially the hide bars on scroll feature. No other app has this. I wonder if it’s hard to develop? I remember the developer of Apollo had quite a few bugs with it in the beginning.

  • I like Voyager a lot. It’s definitely the most Apollo esque. Other than the lack of hide bars on scroll feature. The bars at the bottom and the top can be distracting and I find content looks better when they disappear as you scroll.

So far I’ve only found Avelon to have this feature.

  • Wreck the economy because it only works for the billionaire class.
  • Okay but how? What’s the plan? Otherwise it’s just empty words.

  • First impressions of watchOS 10?
  • What features do you want?

  • Is it possible to get back the Apple TV Now Playing controls to the iPhone lock screen/Dynamic Island on iOS 17?
  • Hmm I’m using this feature right now on iOS 17.

When you play something on your Apple TV, open control center on your phone, press the AirPlay icon in the now playing section, select control other speakers & tvs at the bottom, and find/select your Apple TV that is playing content.

Now it should show the now playing widget on the Lock Screen and in the dynamic island.

  • Google says it can’t fix Pixel Watches, please just buy a new one
  • It’s not the same situation though. Pixel watches are unrepairable even by Google.

  • California launches digital IDs on iPhone… but without Apple Wallet support
  • Why do companies(states) insist on releasing their obviously inferior takes on things that are already on our phones and work well.

This will probably go the way of Apple Pay. Many companies insisting on using their version of mobile pay until they eventually cave because they finally realized how shit it is

I just looked up the California wallet app for this and it has such low ratings.
