I'm not sure how cynical to be about this. Probably it'll suck, because almost everything sucks, but jeez if it's done right a counterculture reminder could be a marvel.
It's from the same guy who runs the Beat Museum in North Beach, which opened some years after I moved away from San Francisco, so I've never seen it. Any bay area locals want to chime in, and tell me whether the Beat Museum is worthwhile?

Being old, death gets my attention, so I read the obituaries. This is a collection of recent obits, mostly of people whose work touched my life, because I want to say thanks (or maybe give 'em a final fuck you).

Murders like those of 80-year-old dog-walker Ruth Dalton are unacceptable. They’re also preventable. To achieve lasting public safety, we need much larger investments in public health.

① Republicans target the lowest-info and dumbest people, which is apparently about 47% of America ② ... tell them the biggest whoppers ③ And never stop lying, because the media barely and only belatedly factchecks, and anyway, their top lie is that you can't trust the media.

Sorry and it's nothing personal, @silence7, but after years of Trump and tens of thousands of his lies, the answer seems so obvious it's not worth a click. He lies because he lies because he lies.
I recline corrected, grazi.
It's an old, old story, certainly, but every time it's re-told I can at least imagine a few of the mental-sleepwalkers might wake up.
Trump isn't a boomer, he's a pre-boomer.
Doing this in all restrooms, as a response to vandalism or the dreaded smoking, arguably makes sense. Doing it only for the kids officially hated and required to use a segregated restroom that's only for them, is not security, only cruelty.
Well, then I should probably have more sympathy for the late Dr Towers Parry. I'll work on it, seriously... but it won't be easy...
Yeah, I try not to judge, but probably I don't try hard enough.
Thing is, I have known two people with multiple sclerosis, known them quite well, including my now-dead best friend. Neither of them went bonkers like this. My snap judgment says to blame Tamara Towers Parry for what Tamara Towers Parry did, not some medical condition.
Exactly right. The right-wing wants trans kids to stop existing... by any means necessary. Policies such as this, aimed at adolescents, are an invitation to bullying, misery, and suicide.
And they feel the same about trans or gay adults, the poors, the blacks, the immigrants, and more (it's a long list) ...
It's a sadness, but I also have occasional issues with Firefox. It's still the best browser by far, but its share is so small, more and more developers aren't testing their pages in Firefox any more.
