We teachers once has a "stop the bleed" training before school started (high school) a few years ago It was very sobering and traumatizing. We haven't repeated it but we had to learn about using tourniquets, packing wounds, and stopping the bleeding after a school mass shooting. I'm sure it led to teacher turnover.

Apparently Ohio laws for teacher days off are written as "sick days" so her taking personal time broke the rules. But their consequence is ridiculous and shows that it's not about the time off but about control and power.
She's been suspended and facing termination. So that means her students will get a sub for the rest of the year. Also, why should I have to explain my whereabouts if I took the days off and there's a sub in the class?
