Hey, yep we are actively working on it. Some errors are difficult to reproduce and only become apparent on a larger scale. After the first release, it should be significantly better.
@hariette, actually I was the one looking for your coffee link ;) Thanks!
@laurens That was quite a ride. I can't remember the last time I had to sleep for a solid 12 hours straight :p
Yeah, absolutely. Choosing an instance is a mature decision that I hope many people will make. It would mean that the /kbin ecosystem is strong enough to handle it. However, for now, I would suggest sticking to larger instances that have been around for a while or those where the administrators are active on Matrix - like @melroy - they know /kbin best. In those cases, everyone can also get quick help from me by reaching out privately for a sufficient period of time ;)
Actually, I have a plan to improve the federation, but at this scale, I need to be super cautious. Just one mistake is enough to harm other instances. That's why I want to prioritize setting up robust testing environments first, so that the every changes in this regard are thoroughly checked and validated.
I have an eye on this issue. I can't reproduce it myself, but I will have a few additional devices for testing this week.
@1Fuji2Taka3Nasubi Hey, during the server migration, I had to unload the queue (the previous week). I added several addresses to the blocked instances that were either unresponsive or generating errors at that time. Lemmy.zip ended up on that list - probably by mistake. My bad. Now, after the initial verification, most of those instances are still dead, but I will verify it more thoroughly today. Now that I have sorted out the infrastructure issue, a series of federation fixes will follow - perhaps even this week.
With additional tools for moderators, a system for taking over abandoned magazines will be created. I want to automate this, but it will take some time. I am in the process of finalizing the last formalities. I will soon post a status update.
Try @curiosityLynx@kglitch.social
I will add the issue, thanks.
Hey, a month ago I would have simply pressde the button and not thought too much about it. Now the situation looks completely different. I have bookmarked all the discussions I came across, and next week I will read every single post to have a complete picture. I owe you that.
However, we need to think about additional privacy features, as priorities have drastically changed in recent weeks, and I will have to carefully consider that. Now that I have dealt with infrastructure issues, I will focus on the most important matters.
@blazera lemmy.ml is blocking incoming traffic from the kbin.social server.

why not both gif
These renders are incredible. I enjoy playing around with Blender sometimes myself, but my skills are limited to placing a few simple blocks ;)
Wow ;) I'm incredibly lucky to have come across people like you. The authors of those posts are actually right - managing /kbin is a significant challenge nowadays. It requires extensive knowledge and experience to keep it under control. But also I've never hidden that fact - the information about it is placed at the very top of the repository's readme ;) However, as I mentioned, a lot is changing very quickly https://kbin.social/m/RedditMigration/t/122333/Fediverse-won-t-replace-Reddit-as-long-as-Lemmy-is-the#entry-comment-478779. And we're all working hard on it, to improve and automate as many things as possible. Thanks to all of you, I believe I can face it head-on, and together we can create a better place. Better internet. Not just this instance, but cooperation between platforms is the key here.
Unfortunately, there are delays occurring again - I've decided that smooth website operation will be the priority this time. There are approximately 450k tasks waiting in the queue, and everything will be handled, but it will take some time. Today, we're also conducting final tests of the new infrastructure. It's taking a while because we're documenting templates that can later be used by others to create their own instances. I hope these are the last issues we have to endure ;)
Thanks for everything.

No, there is no connection between reputation points and sorting algorithms. It's just info in the profile.
Hey, boost == 2upvote. Simple as that ;)
Hey, it's not finished completely yet (the timeline table), but I decided to do a quick fix. It's quite annoying ;)
