A cool guide to the White House's floor plan
  • The government doesn't want you to know that but actually the Queen didn't die, she just decided it's finally time to retire and moved where she figured no one would look for her. After the unpaid intern accidentally leaked the information - hence the rooms name on the map - that fact is still denied, which just makes it more suspicious.

  • Europeans, do you take the train to travel to other countries?
  • The flight itself is 1.5 h as well, but I would need 2 additional hours by train to actually get to my destination. So idk maybe 6 hrs in total? I have no idea if that's realistic though, have never seen an airport from the inside.

  • Europeans, do you take the train to travel to other countries?
  • As I'm living in the north of Germany I could probably easily go to Denmark and Sweden, haven't tried that yet though. Been to Prague by train once, which was okay, as there was a direct connection by EC.

Actually I'm planning to go to Austria this summer, so I've recently looked it up. Plane tickets are more then twice as expensive compared to train for my route. The train takes 11-12 hours (depending on connection) though, which is absolute max for me. So yeah, wouldn't go further than that. (Still looked up a connection to Croatia, that would've been an absolute pain in the a** by train...)

  • Experience with Lammy Soft Sensation (or similar animalless mohair alternatives)?

So I want to knit up an all-over lace top, which is originally made with two strands of Lang Yarns Mohair Luxe. I've been searching for non-animal alternatives for quite a while now. My best bet might be Lammy Soft Sensation, but as it's rather cheap I'm afraid it might also look and feel cheap. Does anyone have experience with it? The reviews I can find online are rather scarce.

Also been looking into Alize Cotton Gold and Hobbii Amigo. They're not exactly mohair-y but might provide a little fluff and, more importantly, softness.

What do you think? Are there better options? TIA!

Sauber poster for the 2024 Canadian GP
  • I'm always excited for the Sauber poster. It's always like the designers think: "This is a shit show anyways so let's have all the fun we can have! ... ... Yeah ofc the car fits on there, trust me bro."

  • A cool guide to daily protein sources by region
  • Those are great suggestions! Meals that aren't supposed to have meat in it are not "missing something". In the end we always prefer what we're used to and will come back there when lacking willpower, as it's the more comfortable state. So when one wants to reduce/stop eating meat (or really change anything else in their life) it's about getting used to the new, preferred state, in this case meatless meals.

  • [Baby+Toddler] Made these miniature socks two years ago as a Christmas present

They're really just socks for adults but in oh so tiny. The little man's favorite color was green at the time and he still always took off his socks off everwhere. But not these babies! They were his favorite as long as they fit. They're made from acrylic iirc.

Vent: Unable to get a sick note because of migraine

Hey beautiful people, need to vent a bit. Figured you might understand + we need a bit activity. (Just hope it's not entirely dead.)

I'm currently at hour 28 of my most recent attack. As a chronic sufferer I'm in pain more or less all the time, so I'm calling the really severe ones "attacks". So it's been 28 hours and the triptanes aren't working anymore. I'm so exhausted and tired by now and my head's not working properly. Migraine makes me stupid. I didn't even manage to call in sick today. I'm just lying around doing literally nothing, focused on not dying.

Now the major problem is I need to go to a doc to get a sick note, otherwise my hours for yesterday and today are lost and I'd need to work overtime next week. But how am I supposed to physically get there? I'm inable to get myself a freaking glass of water, but driving through the whole city and then sitting in a crowded room for hours full of sick people coughing and talking while the light flickers, only to get "headache? Oh that sucks. You better stay home" by the doc is fine? Does that even follow any logic?

So yeah I guess I'm just taking the hours. Even though I lost my last job because of this specific reason. Migraine sucks.

Thanks for coming to my vent or something and have a great day for me!

    Collapsing comments not possible anymore?

Not sure if it's something in my settings, a bug or the feature was removed, but I can't seem to collapse comments anymore. That's a bummer. Anyone else having this problem or more info on it?

Edit: So in different comment thread it suddenly worked again. Guess it's a bug.

Urlaub in Sehma (Sachsen).

TIA

Gestern bei Rewe gefunden. Kennt ihr die? Taugt die was?
