Retail stores had to be closed on Sunday until 2006 in this place. Its amazing they allow contraceptives at all here.

I want to go to there.

I like living in the city but miss nature shit so much. I gotta find the furthest bus route out of town and find a big spot of woods no one is using. Relaxing in nature is the most relaxing way to relax.

Also I just fucking LOVE exploring forests. Lived out in the sticks on a kilometer sized farm for a while and beyond the fields which kinda went up a hill was a lightly wooded peak that became denser on the other side and I built little bases by fixing up deer blinds people had left in trees or just by hauling wood up and building a shed or two to keep tools in, the deer blinds were for snack and booze storage. Had a few pop tents I got for cheap that I stashed in different sheds so I could just spend days living in the woods with what id already set up and a cooler that I'd attached to a wagon with bike wheels on it that the huskies could haul like a sled. Id sit in it and they'd run me up the hill to the woods. Fucking sucks the human situation was a nightmare cause having miles of woods to explore fucking ruled.

Both are fine. Id like more written stuff available in that regard. Old internet being mostly text was fin and I miss it.

So most of that is either Victorian period guys making shit up about mideval Europe which is where a lot of modern pop culture interpretation is still largely based in or early modern period rich guys and maybe some mideval rich guys. Germ theory wasn't a thing of course but there was some long observed cause and effect in regards to being dirty as hell and disease. Cleanliness was also next to godliness so mideval guys did feel a spiritual need to bathe as well to an extent. Rich people not bathing was sort of a flex in how rich they are. The idea was they aren't out there sweating and toiling so bathing was less necessary for them. Peasants would regularly 'bathe' by just getting naked and jumping in the river. Washing clothes was a whole ordeal as was most domestic stuff which is partially why peasants seemingly had so many days off, those were days off from getting your lord the grain so you can do laundry, re-thatch the roof, animal husbandry shit, and also to tend your own damn grain that youre gonna eat.

Victorian guys who loved to slander and romanticize the middle ages simultaneously also lived in disgusting filthy conditions due to the recent forced urbanity which were way grosser than any mideval farm or even city but they were kinds hyped on themselves so they had to imagine the past as being even grosser

Got really busy late in the night after I let a couple people out early who had stuff to do. So the late rush and clean up was 2 people. Usually we try to start flipping the line and doing early closing stuff around 2 hours to close and just try to keep it nice til the end, that chance did not occur so the flip started at 15 to close. For some reason this was also the moment all of front of housse wanted to talk to me. They rang in everything and then had nothing to do but wait and seemed to think I had time to chit chat in the window or make an entire discussion out of whatever questions they had, many which weren't relevant at the moment. Like... bruh I know youre waiting on a slice shop pizzas, when you ring that in right after 3 takeouts while we're working on 5 tables, the pizzas we sell by the slice out front getting restocked is bottom of the list, should've asked for it earlier. Getting asked how we're doing on various bits of stock when I have no fucking clue cause I've been too busy running service all the way til close to even consider the prep list and inventory stuff. Or asking if I have any plans for my days off when im making 3 salads, watching a pizza oven, plating and expoing apps and pastas and calling orders with very specific ordering and timing cause its just 2 of us so coordination is key. I really like all of them, great people but damn homies...you had all day to chat, it was slow as fuck until the last hour and a half of being open. Eventually I had to say "I've still got a mile long list of shit to do before im done and you guys can't lock up until then. Any time you take from me right now is gonna be added to the end of your night waiting for me to finish closing, this isn't a time any of us can afford me being distracted.". One of them did offer to jump in on dish which was a very nice offer but would have just slowed us down in practice, she doesn't know where anything goes do one of us would have to be putting shit away and then you may as well also wash the dishes cause the machine takes a couple minutes which is enough time to put your dry shit away combined with the fact that while I am a pretty kickass cook, my dishwashing skills are on a whole other level. Me and a pal back in like 2016 handled a 900 person 4 course business summit bullshit luncheon thing for rich guys in 2 hours including glassware. The offer was nice and I really wish there was somewhere I could put her to work that would have helped but it was one of those things where someone who isn't already really good at it helping would be more of an obstacle.

Also our last dine in was an old dude eating by himself that looked exactly like IRL Master Roshi.

The Black Death was around for like...30 years. Mideval guys weren't like Monty Python depicts. They bathed and stuff. Miedeval shit is complicated but it wasnt a bunch of shit covered bog people who lived to 40 at best.

They've locked my local grocery store down so hard the street facing entrance is locked at 7pm so people walking have to go around back to the parking lot either through a different store or past their dumpsters and loading docks. If theres a truck unloading you hafe to cross the road going to the parking lot and then cross back on the other side of the truck which leaves just enough space for one car ar a time to get by if its docked. They have 2 vested up security guys, not bullet proof or anything, just tough guy security uniforms and then also floor walkers. This has made me need to sneak my shit through the checkouts and actually buy a thing or two and sometimes make full legit purchases instead of just filling a large sack and casually sauntering away, and I am insulted on behalf of the people who aren't stealing. Ive been lifting from this place for over a decade now and haven't been caught so it's clearly not working.
