I finished Golden Son, the second in the Red Rising saga and moved right onto the third. It's difficult to get into specifics without spoiling but I can see why people had better opinions of the second book. The pacing was nonstop from one thing to another which was a step-up from the first book that held you in the same setting for 2/3rds of the book. Nothing prepared me for the conclusion either, even though there are a dozen hints along the way. Now I'm wondering how the third is going to top it. I've read quite a bit into it so far but it's only got an 'okay' from me, though the second felt the same in the beginning.
I'm planning to wrap up Morning Star in the following week, then I plan to reread Way of Kings in preparation for Winds and Truth next month.
It was a surprise when I discovered it was a trilogy. Then another when I found out there’s a second trilogy after that! I’m going to be busy for a while haha. The first book had a bit of a pacing issue but the 2nd has been moving nonstop. I’m enjoying it a lot! I’d definitely recommend it.
Series aren’t usually a problem for me, once I get hooked I tend to binge through the rest. The sadness hits harder once you finish the last book though as the world you spent several months in comes to an end. Thankfully I’ve got quite a bit to go yet with the Red Rising world. I believe there’s even a seventh book releasing next year?
Picked up Red Rising that was sat in my backlog for months. Blitzed right through it and now I'm on book 2, Golden Son. Despite the first book getting mixed reviews, I loved it and I heard that book 2/3 are even better so I'm super excited to keep going!
The Mary Sue is a bit overdone though. I thought book 2 was taking it a step back but then it comes back out of literally nowhere with forshadowing that was just, "meh".
I try not to judge people too much on it, sometimes it just happens to slip the mind which is fair enough. The people who don't indicate at roundapoints however... It's not just about safety, but letting others know if they can enter or not. By indicating you help one another and it takes minimal effort to do so.
It helps when writing a lot of boilerplate or if I’m being lazy and want to solve something. However I do not need AI in everything I use. It seems everyone wants AI in their product whilst it’s doing the same thing everyone else is doing.
I just finished listening to We Are Legion (We Are Bob). It was a fun one to listen to and easy to follow even whilst working which meant I blitzed through it.
Now I’ve gotta wait almost a month for my next credit :( Not sure what I’ll try next though, I don’t usually bother with sci-fi but I’ve been on the lookout for something after finishing The Three-Body Problem trilogy. Nothing is really hitting the mark currently.
Just returned from a 3 week one so I doubt I’d get another one for a bit haha.
Reminds me that I still need to play the first one. Tried it in VR and it was a bit iffy but now that I'm aware of a mod that makes it better I need to give it another try.
Considering the requirement doesn’t impact me personally as I have an account. I do understand part of the backlash. Requiring players to sign up to an account for a single player game that then asks you for to upload your government ID is kinda a bit much. I’d be sour too if I had to do likewise.
This isn't just McDonalds. I walked into KFC the other day and it's got so darn expensive there, too. Nowadays we don't bother eating out unless we're on the road or something. Just ain't worth it.

It’s a shame it hasn’t come to other platforms but I believe it can be picked up on the Xbox One / Series S|X digital stores if the 360 store is down.
I got the server-side ads a few weeks ago. Switched to another account and was ad-free again. I'd be happy to pay for Premium as it supports the creators I watch, but for ad-free alone it's not worth the £13/mo. The other features jacking up the price aren't much use to me.
