Bernie Sanders Proposes Reducing Americans’ Workweek to 32 Hours
  • I think instead of paying everyone overtime, most places will have to adopt to shifts. A crew that is Monday to Thursday and another crew Tuesday to Friday with most work occuring Tuesday through Thursday

  • The EPA Is Backing Down From Environmental Justice Cases Nationwide
  • Or remind the Judiciary that their rulings are only enforced if the executive agrees to enforce the ruling. Remind them they technically don't have the constitutional right to declare laws unconstitutional. Then you remind the nation that the crux of their argument was that Congress needs to make the final call, when Congress itself delegated it's duties when the EPA was created. They have nothing but hot gas, time we stopped fearing the burnout.

  • Sports fans more welcoming of LGBTQ+ people than ever
  • I thought "they should be allowed" explained my position fully. I think while I understand explicitly the trans question is hotly debated, I fully support any trans person playing. 'The article didn’t say “Sports are moving against trans folks, but fans don’t want that”', I am saying I do want that I think it would be awesome if some transperson made it into the NFL, or a woman. Like I am not against that happening at all. In fact, I would support those trying/succeeding. I think the reality is that the even the most well-meaning people don't have constant interactions with transpeople who are into pro or collegiate/high school sports, so it becomes hard to hardcore advocate for people who you don't have regular interactions with. It is the same reason why it never made sense for conservatives to be so damn concerned about it. I obviously can't speak for your experience, but taking the modern neo-fascist conservative opinion as the opinion of all, seems a bit disingenuous; they simply bitch at everything and louder than most.

  • Sports fans more welcoming of LGBTQ+ people than ever
  • I see your point, and ultimately I don't care if trans people compete, they should be allowed, I think they have already figured out a reasonable timeline where it becomes fair again. I think this is recognizing that the sports of our parent's generation is moving onto the younger. For example, I hated spectator sports as a kid, but now I love Football, and enjoy watching MLB, NBA, NHL, and MLS all in person. If you asked younger me if I would be interested in sports, I would have laughed. Now I am probably closest to a socialist or leftist, and I def support anyone playing sports, but I bet my dad and mom would be weirded out. Seems to be the shift as Millennials and Gen Z get more into sports. But obviously this is just my opinion, not fact.

  • Far-right party set to win most seats in Dutch elections, exit polls show
  • Except there were 80 million people who said no to that last time. Trump is not the candidate of change regardless of what one thinks of Biden, to even pretend that is absurd. I honestly don't think anyone would now somehow be more sympathetic towards him. He hasn't changed, and neither has the American public

  • Why projects start with a Discord and not an alternative - Comment found on Mastodon
  • I remember coming to Discord from Skype and it was definitely an adjustment. Discord wants everything in a server, so direct messages/call between users is a bit offuscated. Once you get used to that it makes some sense, but if you were a primary Slack/Skype/Teams users you might have some initial friction. I know I did

  • Cyberpunk's storytelling makes Starfield seem ancient - Opinion
  • I think it is just a new modern game so therefore hyperbole demands it much be either the best thing ever or trash. A lot of people said RDR2 was "dated" design as well. I think they both have strengths, same with Cyberpunk. I think only BG3 is a step forward for RPG storytelling, Cyberpunk, Starfield, Red Dead all have issues, but they allow the player to get immersived in their worlds and at the end of the day that's all that matters.

  • Opinion: The Copyright Office is making a mistake on AI-generated art
  • A hand coded simulation in house is the definition of creative expression. Using a product to essentially Google an image is not, I don't see how this is a hard distinction.

Perfect example is Corridor Crews second anime battle video. Or Joel animation on YouTube. There is more to those than just using an AI to get an image of short video

  • Is It Just Impossible to Have an Honest Conversation About Starfield?
  • That's actually a bad comparison. Elden Ring and AC6 use the same engine, which is at least a heavily modified Demon Souls engine. FromSoftware is much closer to Bethesda in how they reuse tech than you realize

  • Today's Large Language Models are Essentially BS Machines
  • Hard to believe a senior dev can't find work. Those positions are the most needed. Also 25 an hour is 50k a year. No where in the US are senior devs paid that little. I suppose you may not be US based, but your cost for college seems to imply US, albeit at an expensive school.

  • Starfield on PC is the best way to play - but the game still requires a lot of work
  • Yeah not my experience either. One point you made about the armory items not moving to cargo is not accurate. I have done that twice actually and each time my mantis gear and Livingstone pistol remained in cargo. Possible big with a particular armory piece or maybe you had a full cargo hold? I just know there is more to it than that

  • Another Starfield Post
  • Yeah, but you can do the same thing in Star Field, just takes a bit of learning. You get the exact same cut scenes for loading even, ala Mass Effect. The reality is the game offers fast travel, as essentially jumping 5 times and loading and seeing the cut scenes is the same thing as just loading to the end.

This game feels more like a test, do you actually want to explore, or do you want to hop point to point for the quest. You can do either. It just seems to offer fast travel as the first option, but you can take the slow way around too

  • I watched 2 hours of starfield gameplay and an hour of review
  • Yeah my experience is the same, I rarely mind all the loading screens since most places load almost instantly. And if you grab jump and stuff from the cockpit it does cut scenes for the loading screen kinda like mass effect.

  • I watched 2 hours of starfield gameplay and an hour of review
  • I would say it is. The shooting is hands down best Bethesda combat, clear enhancements over Fallout 4. And I haven't really been into too many fights yet. Having been to Mars I can start to see how the environments really change up the combat

Larian says it’s discussing potential Baldur’s Gate 3 DLC | VGC
  • They absolutely should! Make an expansion, 2 acts, increase party size to 6 for expansion campaign and DnD mode. Charge 40 bucks and call it Baldur's Gate 3: Descent into the Underworld or something and bam, you sell hot cakes again.

Todd Howard wants Elder Scrolls 6 to be ‘the ultimate fantasy-world simulator’
  • I think if we are strict on the definition, BG3 is definitely the better roleplaying game. The Bethesda games are better at the go here and do anything, but their world connections has always been far more gamey that what Larian is doing. I think if Bethesda really wants to make ES6 the undisputed best again, I think they need the NPCs improved to at least Oblivion standards, better town to town(power Dynamics), better so that remembers what you have done contextually, and then probably 2 or 3 very well fleshed out companions, and a really good story which I think they have set up already. Their gameplay is undisputed imo, but their reason to care about the world can sometimes be a mile wide but an inch deep.
