Merry 9/11 and Happy Holidays - New General Megathread for the 11th-13th of September 2024
  • You're going to shoot me for this but I was in the same spot a year ago and I think figured out how to get around that.

Go to Reddit or another forum and browse their dating personals. I've gotten more meetups/conversations with like minded people in 3 months than I have in 3+ years trying to date elsewhere. Most people are surprisingly nice and willing to give you a fair shake. I met my current girlfriend there and we'd never have met in a 1000 years if it wasn't from being terminally online. I'd probably use those subreddits before I download Tindr again.

  • Are there any non-profit type dating apps that don't have "premium" features trying to get you to spend money in some gamified fucked up way like most of them do?
  • Realistically, it would just be an online forum like reddit instead of a traditional dating app. But reddit already has those forums and they work pretty darn well imo. I've dated a few people off reddit and about half of the people I message are willing to give me a decent conversation.
