I did not read the article, but the summary made me actually laugh out loud. Hell the supreme court has already said the government has the right to intern a whole class of US citizens based on national security. The SCOTUS rulings do seem rather crazy at times to me though, so perhaps this is a winning strategy for ByteDance.
Two things are happening simultaneously Russia/China are trying to spread discontent, and Trumps followers are being told they no longer have to abide by social norms that keeps societies civil.
I believe the uncivil thing just always comes in waves as the people that don't like change are forced to change and get resentful. Some kind of event happens and resets the floor, or all the people that don't want to change die off, and things settle down.
And this is the mental framework through which I see the world.
They ask what will happen next. My guess is... nothing changes, someone in the future whistleblows, and 'kills themselves' with a double tap to the back of the head. It's a toss up whether the public will ever know of the whole ordeal.

I must admit, I saw the videos before watching the movie. Based on the content of the videos, decided I could skip watching the movie. I imagine PipedBot will be along shortly with the other links.
This is a generalization on the same level as "all black people are..." and makes just as much sense. I think they're stupid too, but did it because it's what everyone but the parents wanted. I didn't think the day was about me, but my parents and in-laws were excited about the whole thing, and it made them happy. But apparently that level of self absorption means my two children should be taken from me...

I still miss having a physical keyboard for messages. If HTC had kept making slide out keyboard phones, I woulda kept buying. Though it seems, based on market trends, I might have been one of the very few.
