Diversity offices on college campuses will soon be illegal in Texas, as 30 new laws go into effect
  • My point is mostly this: are we here to discuss and provide information or throw paper at each other. The comment you responded to wasn't one I agreed with either ,but it was based on their opinion and (imo) not worth arguing because opinions are subjective. It is worth considering becasue they are telling you about their personal, if ancesdotal, experience.

So when people completely miss the opportunity for conversation about something that appears controversial, and rather pile on because they are daring to have an opinion..... well ya , I say something.

I've been around long enough to see institutional thinking crush community and conversation and I don't like it. So there is my subjective opinion and feedback.

  • Knowing that something failed you and stating it does not call for being preached to by someone who the system obviously worked for. This is just the flip side of the "I know better than you" coin.

This type of educated bullying is also not the answer, or response that gains results.

People have opinions and experiences with out having to back them up with studies and papers . Your response is maddening in the way that it only serves a cooling effect on actual sharing of experience and input..... which cools all that lovely diverse , straggler input.

You sound like you're hiding feelings behind papers and studies.

What is so hard about using what you learned without quoting all you know?

  • I lost the ability to comment on insta bc I commented in my representatives page. He is not only an elected representative, he is pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atl. This is the pulpit MLK led hia movement from. So yes, I am extra mad that he has not even made a statement. I have already done the emails, they don't care. So I figured a public comment on his insta post would stir something up, it did. Meta told me I'd be stfu for a while.

So once I was able to comment again I stated that meta can fuck right off and I'll be signing up for telegram. At least journalists can post freely there.

  • Does anyone else feel like 90% of the population is stupid?
  • I feel this, but more along the line of chosen ignorance rather than actual stupidity. Either a new topic us overwhelming or they worry\fear they'll get it "wrong". Also, being from the south, where so much has been politicized, they fear the tribal back lash of thinking for themselves. I don't know what's wrong with me, I was never the type to "go with it".

  • This was what they found in other schools too. One specific location ( I can't remember where) the dads formed a group to a) keep kids peaceful and b) because they were being sent to jail for schoolyard bs. It was a largely black school. If you want to look it up with the sad details my brain is providing. Sry

  • Joel Bervell on insta has been doing a great job of explaining the differences and how to address them. I see him on insta but I'm sure he is on all the platforms. I live in the US south and this is a serious issue. It is insult to injury.

President Biden Announces Billions to Deliver World-Class High-Speed Rail and Launch New Passenger Rail Corridors Across the Country
  • For at least 30 years middle Georgia (USA) has asked for rail commute to Atlanta and Savannah.

Now see.....this rail used to be a passenger rail. Somehow this ended and we can't get it back.

With the abysmal traffic in Atlanta, this would seemingly call for enthusiasm. Somehow the issue always dies quietly after a poll is given.

Living in Savannah, I'd really just like the old passenger schedule to re open.

    Not gonna happen anytime soon.

  • Thank you for putting this here. I learned this the hard way after buying a poorly designed (for battery life) Nissan leaf. Also want to add that new battery tech is not too far in the future that is going to make the current batteries look pitiful. I'm not wildly savvy on that topic and even I know this. So any current models may lose support
