Lemmings! What are you listening to this lovely morning?
  • Based and ghostpilled.

    Listening to Faith myself.

  • Did you see the Northern Lights last night?
  • Yep! Looked absolutely unreal in Kilkenny.

Was very vivid to look at with our eyes but the phones picked them up even better!

  • Eurovision
  • Cheers for that! Will take a look over there now.

  • Eurovision
  • You can watch it on the RTE player for sure anyway.

Beware though, the RTE player is a ball of shite a lot of the time.

  • Eurovision

Gwan Bambie Thug. That performance was class and the stage set and choreography was mad.

I wasn't swayed by the initial RTE performance but delighted to see them get through the semifinals.

Croatia was my second favourite, followed by Finland. Give me weird catchy performances over ballads any day.

Ankles and hands are in bits though.

What is that movie you saw at too young an age that still haunts you to this day?
  • Mars Attacks. Hilarious now but it absolutely traumatised me when I was younger.

  • Anyone have advice on getting a new job in Ireland?
  • I know a lot of people give out about them but I've had a lot of luck getting into various recruiters over the years.

They do their best to find a role for you and they don't just chuck any old job at you. They don't get paid if the person they placed ends up leaving so they have to make sure you'll at least last six months.

Also I hate the site but LinkedIn is very good for finding roles and for being found by companies and recruiters. Get that up to date with any experience and qualifications you have and set up some job alerts. The automated applications are a dose, haven't had much luck with them myself. I normally just find the roles through LinkedIn and see if the same job spec is on the company's website and apply through that.

  • Future of the community
  • Not a bad idea getting a community set up there. If the community kicks off we'll need mods.

I think it'd be handy if more people contributed as well. I've noticed that it's the same few people posting news articles but we have a fair amount of people subscribed.

I think people shouldn't be afraid to post in the subreddit, as long as it's Ireland related any content is welcome.

What music to do you listen to while working?
  • Spyro aged brilliantly. I loved the Reignited Trilogy but sometimes it's fun to break out the originals!

  • What music to do you listen to while working?
  • I like to cycle through game OSTs when I need to concentrate.

Final Fantasy (X and X-2 especially)

    Nier and Nier Automata

    Guardians Crusade

    Spyro

When I'm less focused I tend to listen to my usual artists like Brand New, Coheed and Cambria, Smashing Pumpkins and The Republic Of Wolves.

A RULE SPY'S IN THE BASE?!
  • They're paying for the use of the Boost app that the developer themselves created though? If they were charging for a Lemmy server I'd understand the point but they're paying for a client that they don't have to pay for. If it brings more people over to Lemmy then we all benefit really.

I also paid for Boost because the UI beat out all the other clients that I tried, replacing Connect which was my favourite at the time. It felt the most like Relay that I used to use on Reddit.

  • One person arrested every hour for drink or drug-driving over Christmas
  • Mental. Dunno why anyone would take the risk tbh. Ignoring the fact that it puts other people at risk, the guards are out in full force testing over the holidays!

  • Dublin Riots
  • They badly need to invest in recruiting Garda. They're understaffed and underpaid and it must be very demotivating to see people get away with this carry on.

Final Fantasy IX Remake Might Be Closer To Reveal, New Video Teases Announcement
  • 7 remake absolutely slapped. Can't wait for the next part, especially after they showed off the big open areas and side-content.

  • Good minimalistic case for 8 and 8 pro?
  • Love this case. Got the white one and it's very high quality and shows off the camera bar nicely.

Buttons are nice and clicky and there's a slight lip that keeps the camera or the screen from touching the table.

  • [FF7Rebirth] what are you most looking forward to see?
  • I just can't wait to go back and revisit all the locations and see how they've been modernized. Seeing Kalm bustling with people with the foliage made it seem so cosy.

Can't wait to see what they do with other towns and locations.

  • what are your favorites foss apps ?
  • I wouldn't watch YouTube if it wasn't for Newpipe.

  • Are you replacing Reddit with Lenny?
  • Didn't know about this!

Love how people can host it. Very easy to use UI as well.

  • Are you replacing Reddit with Lenny?
  • I'm caught between the two at the moment.

My Reddit app (Relay) is still working for now so I'm using that to browse the few communities that don't have a foothold here yet.

Once Relay kicks the bucket I'll be forced to browse in Firefox with uBlock and that'll definitely cut down the amount of time I spend on there.
