This sounds like exactly what I'm looking for to extend my laptop video editing rig. What kind of software are you running on the NUC to turn it into a NAS? Also, how extendable is that NUC in terms of storage?
I have a video editing laptop with a 4 TB SSD + a bunch of small 2 & 1 TB 2.5" HDDs I am planning to set up a drive pool using the HDDs and connecting them to the laptop using the docking station. \- Is there a way to setup the pool so that all the external HDDs are just redundant copy (none of them are individually are larger than 2 TB, but they all together would add up to over 4 TB) \- How do I set up the pool so that there is always one copy of the data on the laptop SSD so even if I unplug I can still edit my video \- Assuming that if I unplug the laptop, make change to the SSD. When I plug it in again would drive pool be able to sync the change?
