Not going to lie I was skeptical of Chinese fiscal policy recently... But turns out there's a reason that I'm not a Chinese economicist.
The sudden uptick in funding currencies, particularly yen and yuan, dented carry trades, after weak US labour data late last week stoked recession worries and expectations of deeper rate cuts by the Federal Reserve.
All Biden had to do was be unmemorable and he was guaranteed a second term. His ambitious foreign policy decisions (to put it lightly) and his lack of ability to pass meaningful change despite holding both chambers of Congress in his first 2 years doomed him.
It's her turn
Obama has absolutely absurd charisma. He's the Democrat version of Trump - knows exactly what to say to his base and knows how to convince moderates he's not insane.
Clinton and Biden have the charisma of a limp noodle. Sanders has absurd charisma, but he's seen as too big of a threat to Democrat lobbyists and big corporations.
Sanders would've mopped the floor with Trump because he would've actually been able to grab the 18-44 demographic (which last saw peaks in 1992 Clinton/Gore and 2008 Obama/Biden, both to unseat a Republican and, coincidentally, a Bush).
Sanders would have been able to avoid the collapse in turnout from working-class Black people in 2016.
Sanders would've stopped the increasing right-wing radicalization of the youth of America, or provided a counterweight for left-wing economic radicalization.
The US federal elections are basically a pony show and the DNC doesn't know how to play the game without throwing out their playbook.

It's interesting to see Reuters of all places admit to it, though.
Ukraine's Kharkov counteroffensive fizzled. Ukraine's counteroffensive from last year has lost almost all territorial gains (and then some). In what world does Ukraine stand a chance of reclaiming their lost territories?
Do you think revolutions go from 0 to 100 in a day?
The House of Representatives passed their annual defense policy bill with a provision to automatically enroll draft-eligible males in the selective service.
Seems like Erdogan is finally releasing his iron grip on the country since he does not plan to run for reelection. Turkey has had a uniquely independent geopolitical position that gives it immense negotiating power with both the West and the Global South. It'll be interesting to see if they can continue that balance in the future.
The CHP won the municipalities of 36 of 81 provinces, Anadolu said, making inroads into many strongholds of Erdogan’s party.
It would be a real shame to not be able to call all Chinese people Ching Chong See See Pea Spy.
