  • Yeah I just skimmed the essay, and it's pretty bad. There's a lot of false claims, a lot of misunderstandings and misrepresentations, and a lot of thinly veiled transphobic phrases and remarks.

It just comes across as very dishonest to me. Although maybe she actually thinks she is being fair, thoughtful and caring, who knows.

  • This sequence approximates an integer to arbitrary precision, not 8 specifically though, and never perfectly.

I tried it out using other bases, and the rule seems to be that doing this in base n results in n-2 with remainder n-1. So it doesn't ever actually converge, but the remainder becomes small very fast.

  • I've been wondering about this. It seems like it's been around for a long time, but I'm seeing it more recently.

I kinda like the letterforms, even though the kerning and balance of visual weight are terrible. . . . . . oiter

  • It's hard to say without knowing what sort of a friendship you have and what she's like, but I think you should really consider telling her how you feel– about her, or at least how you feel in general.

  • We should have fewer male babies.

This is a pretty radical take, and I understand why most people in the thread don't like your suggestion, but honestly think it has potential.

Our current concept of gender is broken, and short of abolishing gender as a societal concept, I think this could bring balance.

Put simply, we have a patriarchal society, where men are seen as the default, and positions of power skew heavily towards men. Yet men are also valued a lot less than women.

I think changing the ratio of genders could actually even out all of these factors.

  • Eh, sometimes the training takes 4-8+ years, and is only achievable by people with a certain disposition or talent.

I do think it makes sense for education and work to be better integrated (apprenticeships make a lot of sense)

But "discriminating" based on education and skill is just making a decision based on the two most important factors. I don't want some unskilled HS student as my surgeon.

If anything, I think hiring should be based on skill more, not based on previous jobs you've had and how good you are at interviews.

  • There's definitely a grey area. "Sports" is a spectrum from competitive team based games, to any recreational activity that requires athleticism.

In this case my point is that wrestling presents itself as a competitive sport, while that aspect of it is fake.

What is the point of the Nicole spam?
