I prefer Android, but use iPhone 12 Mini instead. The thing is, more than two years ago I was looking for a new phone to replace my aging Oneplus 6, I wanted something more compact. One that really caught my attention was Pixel 4A (Zenfone 8 wasn't released yet, neither was Pixel 5A and I wasn't really looking for Galaxy A or S series full of bloat either).
Out of nowhere a friend of mine offered me barely used iPhone 12 Mini for 400€ so I got that one instead and it serves me well. I still don't like the iOS (apart from the fact that it just works), but other than that the phone itself is still very relevant, camera is good enough, it's got plenty of power for what I need from it, only the battery will need to be replaced in a couple of months. I don't really plan on getting something else yet, this pocket rocket ticks most of the boxes for me, even tough I can't really tinker with OS itself and I'm fairly limited in regard to what apps do I get to use.
I kind of expect that LMG will very slowly disintegrate (it might take years), as many of their staff are concerned with the tight schedules and are probably under a lot of stress. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of their current staff opening up their own smaller channels later, independent of LMG.
I'm not going to unsubscribe, I still enjoy much of LTT content, however as soon as I'm serious about buying some specific hw piece, I always watch GN and Hardware Unboxed videos first.
Of course, I only wish OP firm hand when dealing with this addiction.
it’s very hard for me
I see
My neighbours have protruding balcony, just beside my living room window. I swear there must be some chimney effect taking place when they smoke, because it seems like all the smell is sucked right into my living room.
I don't know if there's a phrase in english for it, but in slovak we say a fish stinks from the head, basically meaning company is whatever the very top managers are like.
I personally think that The IT Crowd is generally better, yet I prefer Black Books over it.
this is the way
Maybe poor choice of words on my part, sad would be better.
Everything remains possible, as long as you don't choose.

But don't let that slip into toxic positivity, it's natural to be upset about losing.
I usually have one USB stick tied to my keys, just in case. I can't imagine carrying an enclosed SSD everywhere with me.
I see, that is if you were to use iGPU, the one integrated in the CPU, basically how much regular RAM it can eat to use for VRAM, if you have no dedicated GPU. Which isn't your case.
I'm not sure where you get that from, CPU doesn't really care about GPU memory. Maybe you're confusing it with newest AMD GPU lineup ? RX 7600 runs 8GB of VRAM, but there's no correlation to the Ryzen 5 7600 CPU.
I think it's doable, here's quick example of what I could buy in Slovakia:
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X - 250€
MoBo: ASUS TUF GAMING B650M-E WIFI - 175€
RAM: Kingston Fury 32GB (2x16) DDR5 6000MHz CL36 - 112€
Total: 537€
You could replace the CPU with R7 7700 but that's maybe 100€ on top of that.
Regarding GPU, yes it still would be compatible and you could still replace that down the road with something more powerful, maybe when next generation of GPUs will arrive, I don't know what resolution you're running but 2070S is still relevant graphics card.
Considering CPU uplift, it seems to be more or less double the performance - link to benchmarks.
You can't switch to AMD without getting a new motherboard (either AM4 or AM5 socket). If you choose to salvage as much HW as possible, then you can go for AM4 motherboard (B550 chipset for instance) along with some R7 5700X, then you can reuse pretty much everything else (probably cpu cooler too) else. Although I'd prefer to have at least 3200MHz ram sticks for Ryzen. I really don't know if your video encoding is more stressful on your cpu or gpu, but generally AMD gpus work better for linux than nVidia ones do.
