I wonder what the people were like
  • It's interesting to try to get into the minds of corporate executives. I wonder how many of them actually thought they'd company was going to last for decades. Or if they were just seeing themselves up a golden parachute for the inevitable.

Hey, I made a news AI tool that uses AI to make news reading better
  • That's pretty harsh. The idea of using AI to help digest more news more efficiently is not a bad one. My only criticism is that currently the product seems to take more away than it's adds in terms of formatting, consistency, and general presentation.

OP, ignore this person. Keep working on it, but don't spam your self promotion until you are confident that people will actually want to use this product over their current choices.

  • Newsom signs bill to make California first state in nation to ban "toxic" food additives
  • It would be the same for any self replicating thing. Bacteria, viruses, fungi, and prions, but they replicate. I will grant you a single large parasite could do this, but at that point, we're talking about tigers and such as a technicality as well.

None of the things you've listed here are single molecules except for the prion. A single cell, even for simple organisms, is made up of millions of proteins. Viruses come close, but are still made up of the nucleus and the capsid.

  • Russell Brand accused of rape, sexual assaults and abuse
  • No it isn't. Reporting on allegations and other newsworthy topics is literally the joirnalists' jobs. They aren't liable for libel or slander as long as they are reporting in good faith. And almost by definition reporting on something someone else said is in good faith as long as you think that they think it's true.

  • Abortions Rose in Most States This Year, New Data Shows
  • Yes because a significant number of people who otherwise would have met and formed relationships didn't. If you didn't already live with someone then there was way less chance of being with someone during that time.

  • Abortions Rose in Most States This Year, New Data Shows
  • I would assume that during 2020 at the start of the pandemic the amount of pregnancies significantly decreased. So the question for me is: is the abortion rate cited the number of total abortions or the number of abortions per pregnancy?

  • Capitalism simps be like
  • That's.... Just not true. People have benign carcinomas all the time and we don't consider them to "have cancer." It's a bit of a sliding scale but to have cancer generally implies some sort of malignancy or at least the threat of future malignancy.

  • Biden administration adds insulin to drug price negotiation list in major blow to big pharma
  • This is, quite frankly, a very poor assumption depending on where you are getting your drugs from. For example, Dr. Reddy in India is the equivalent of buying a "Channel" knock off purse from China. It looks like the real thing, it might even somewhat function like the real thing. But it some serious flaws.

European drugs, alternatively, are often literally the exact same drug for cheaper because the EMA is much stricter about pricing. But there are also laws that prevent exporting it from EU countries just as there are laws preventing importing into the US. Because international trade is not open.
