Lemons(?) of Lemmy, what is something that feels so obvious to you that you just get lowkey pissed at the world for not knowing?
  • Your premise relies on two false pretenses:

    1. That we have time to calculate how everything works. We don’t.

    2. The system doing the calculations is affected by doing the calculations. This creates infinite recursion, which by definition means we can’t actually compute everything

If our universe exists within another universe, the outer universe could calculate and predict everything in our universe, but we cannot do it from within the confines of our own universe.

  • Construction equipment is going electric. Here’s what it’s like behind the wheel.
  • One thing that is beneficial is efficiency of internal combustion engines tends to scale with size.

One met generator is more efficient that smaller engines on each vehicle.

Also, a lot of small equipment isn’t being used all day. You might dig a trench, work in it all day, then fire the machine back up to fill the trench.

  • ✨️ Finish him. ✨️
  • Science is just the process of testing things in the world in a reproducible way.

LeCun’s argument is good career advice (you only get credit for what others know you did), but it’s not factual correct.

  • Conservative Owns the Libs by Paying $4,000 a Month for His Ford F-350
  • I bought a truck primarily for off- grid camping. Much easier to get a single vehicle into places.

I’ve found it extremely useful for truck stuff on nearly a weekly basis. One advantage it has over a van is the bed space is physically separate. I keep a porta potty in the back for my young kids. Never have to worry about it stinking up the cab.

  • Average U.S. vehicle age hits record 12.6 years as high prices force people to keep them longer
  • The newer cars aren’t any harder to work on for driving related functionality. Or, at least they’re not any harder than they were 20 years ago.

The electronics are a layer on top of a relatively legacy layer of “car”.

  • Baby is ready to party
  • They serve an agent. Essentially, validating that the birth did happen.

    Kind of important for citizenship.

That being said, parents are supposed to review before the send it off.

  • 2x2 lumber at Home Depot is now 1.28x1.28. Actual size is supposed to be 1.5
  • But, furring strips don’t have the integrity or quality control to be structural components. Part of why they’re so cheap is because they’re complete junk structural.

I think might be confusing furring strips (a specific type of wood product) with anything laid against another structure (brick wall, studs, etc).
