Not OP, but I can add my two cents. Story is great uncle so-and-so always kept a revolver next to his recliner in front of the TV. Refused to move into a retirement home and he loudly and often said "the day I'm too old and tired to get out of this chair and walk to the shitter I'm calling it quits." And one day he did.
I have to respect the commitment after seeing family with dementia or Alzheimer's drag on for years in agony. Sad story but not something I'd want to sell the gun over
