  • seeing as copilot says at the start of every conversation that it will be recorded, not to mention their massive (non)privacy policy and terms of use, this isn't really news. this is just a fact

  • So… what's going on?
  • At this point, the best thing would just to move to an instance using mbin, a fork created by many devs who contributed to and wanted to improve kbin but were upset at lack of progress. With Ernest's many absences all the improvements weren't being merged. Many instances using the name kbin, such as the one I'm on, have switched to mbin long ago and have many of the features and fixes that have been requested and long waited for.

  • AI discovers that not every fingerprint is unique
  • I kinda assumed this was the case, and some higher ups likely know this too. I know in Ontario, when you get fingerprinted by the police, it's not just your fingers, they'll take your whole palm print. Billions of people in the world, very unlikely anyone is 100% unique.

  • Canadian MPs Want to Verify People Watching Internet Porn. They Admit They’re Not Sure How Their Law Would Actually Work.
  • If it's legal for women to be topless in public, why would pictures of topless females be in this law?

Our government really is dumb. Plus, it's only going to expose the kids to sketchier and possibly illegal stuff. If big porn players step up and do verifications, there would surely be dozens of sketchy sites popping up left and right to fill the void of providing porn.

    Fuck you.
  • Rewards? Oh yeah, less money in my pocket and price increases every few months? Sounds way more convenient than ublock and revanced. Rather pay with my money for an ad-free experience and line the pockets of a rich corporation. My time is too valuable to compile revanced once every few weeks!

  • There was concern in the US administration that a pause would allow journalists broader access to Gaza and the opportunity to further illuminate the devastation there.
  • Ugh, the possibility of accurate reporting and display of what's really going on?

DISGUSTING! Sweep it under the rug and spout opinions as facts!

  • How much do I actually lose with a cutsom ROM?
  • it's pretty easy and convenient currently. install magisk delta (for proper magisk hide support) and playintegrityfix and things should work no problem.

  • As much as omegle was a cesspit, there are already even sketchier alternatives up and running. This will be a wild goose chase with no end in sight unless sites like this get rid of all privacy and log every single interaction and step up their moderation.

Like piracy sites and other illegal/grey areas, take one source down and two more will appear, or however the saying goes.

  • Google Chrome will limit ad blockers starting June 2024
  • I switched to Vivaldi a couple months ago, and previously used brave in the past before growing to dislike it. It surprises me how many brave-heads ignore Vivaldi's existence. It's just a better Brave. No crypto BS and lots of poweruser features.

  • LineageOS is currently installed on 1.5 million Android devices
  • LMOdroid

Similar to Lineage but a few extras. I've been enjoying it a lot. Also seems to have better compatibility with gapps if you choose to install them. Been running Nikgapps full no issue where on lineage pixel launcher would crash frequently.

  • LineageOS is currently installed on 1.5 million Android devices
  • magisk delta + play integrity fix has worked well for me. using google wallet without an issue

  • We've come a long way baby
  • Because adblocking is free and if done right not detectable. I haven't had a single issue with ublock on youtube.

I used to pay for premium but they keep upping their prices. At this point ublock on computers + revanced on phone is best way to go. Premium features without paying a cent.

  • TikTok says it’s not the algorithm, teens are just pro-Palestine — The company denied allegations that it has been promoting pro-Palestine content in an effort to sway American opinion
  • Almost like when you take religion out of the picture it's one country committing genocide against another which is never okay for any reason. Israel can scream "but muh anti-semitism" all they want but it's a scapegoat. Ignore Jewish/Muslim backgrounds and look at what's really going on. It's nothing but a disgusting land grab and genocide that's been going on since WW2.

The world would 100% be a better place without Israel, and that's nothing to do with their religion. The country itself is evil and corrupt. They are bigoted and hypocritical. Israel deserves no sympathy or support. Out of all the bullshit I've seen happen in the middle east the past few decades, Israel is definitely the most abhorrent and repulsive source of conflict.

  • Once a pirate, always a pirate
  • This isn't as much of a meme as it's a commentary on the state of the media industry. Even when my disposable income was great enough for me to subscribe to multiple services, piracy is just so damn easy and convenient that I'd rather pirate everything I want and have it all on my own streaming server (jellyfin) and be able to watch everything in one place, instead of having multiple services with hardly any worthwhile content. Having to scroll through hundreds of movies and shows I have no interest in to find the handful of things worth watching, spread across multiple services and apps, is nothing but a headache. Plus, even if I pay for a subscription, they up their prices on a regular basis.

This is no meme, this is a statement that the only real way to enjoy media without headaches is piracy. This has always been the case and always will be.

  • Youtube is allowing Youtubers to advertise their merch even for premium users
  • I use revanced. None of youtube's changes upsets me because I know within hours/days they'll be patched out.

I know all the private alternatives are useful, but using the google ecosystem directly without dealing with their money grubbing schemes feels like nice way of saying "suck it"
