Looking for a multi-user remote desktop system
  • Oops, didn't notice which community we were in 😂

  • Looking for a multi-user remote desktop system
  • BeyondTrust and SimpleHelp both support this functionality. You can invite a second technician to join the session. I suspect all they're really doing is opening up a second session at the same time, but the end result is that you can have two people remotely controlling a single computer.

But those are both "tech support" focused tools, so I don't know if they quite fit your use case. Parsec is another option that specifically advertises collaborative work like pair programming: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XA21BnUsBJI

  • Authorities hack cryptocurrency seed phrase
  • Yeah, they probably just guessed his Google Drive password lol

  • Is it possible to suspend games on PC like the Steam Deck?
  • I haven't tried it out, but this is a thing: https://github.com/Merrit/nyrna

Ban on junk food ads before 9pm to come into force next year
  • To be clear, I think this new rule is great, but the time will be filled by other garbage ads.

  • Two Major Anime Leakers to Be Exposed Following First-Time U.S. Court Order
  • Lol this sounds like toothless bullshit. Are they confident that these people live in the US? Do they even know if these two twitter accounts are run by single individuals?

  • Trump turns on lawyers.
  • who cares

  • The Internet Archive just lost its appeal over ebook lending
  • Accusing somebody else of licking the boot, while you're having the same boot ground in your face and just acting like it's no big deal, not a problem.

  • Firefox rolls out Total Cookie Protection by default to all desktop users worldwide | It is Firefox’s strongest privacy protection to date, confining cookies to the site where they were created
  • I think there's some confusion here. You're talking about Multi-Account Containers, that person was talking about the Facebook Container. Both Firefox features with confusingly similar names, and honestly that's on Firefox for naming them.

Facebook Container is similar to this TCP feature, but focused on Facebook. And of course it was a separate extension, so very opt-in. Now, Firefox has rolled it out for ALL sites by default, which is awesome and SHOULD HAVE BEEN HOW COOKIES WORKED IN THE FIRST PLACE!

  • Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Sawed the Head Off a Whale and Drove It Home, Daughter Says
  • Who cares, he dropped out. Stop giving this weirdo space in your brain.

  • Ex-bank CEO gets 24 years after falling for crypto scam, causing bank collapse
  • Kinda misleading or poorly written title. He was not convicted of falling for a crypto scam. He was convicted of embezzling funds from the bank, which he did while pumping them into a dumb crypto scam. It would have been illegal even if the crypto thing was NOT a scam (which is rare, I know).

  • Susan Wojcicki, Former Chief of YouTube, Dies at 56
  • I'm guessing her cancer is one of the factors that drove her son to OD....just speculating, obviously. Her husband must be fucking destroyed, this is awful.

  • Rad Power Bikes launches its first belt drive low-cost e-bike, the RadKick
  • For a QUALITY belt-drive e-bike? Absolutely. There are a few brands that make cheaper belt-drive single-speeds, like Ride1Up: https://ride1up.com/product/roadster-v2/

But compared to that bike, this one from Rad Power has a better motor, bigger battery with more range, disc brakes, front suspension, a rack with integrated lights.....and Rad Power has a better reputation as a brand. So this bike is a bargain at $1400 IMO.

If I could think of one criticism, it would be that this bike should come with a Gates belt drive (that's the top brand in the belt drive market). But the 2-year warranty inspires confidence, even if they're not using a Gates drive.

  • Greedy Publishers Have Won And Normalized Paying To Play Early
  • Yeah, every time I see one of these stories, I'm very confused. Who is this article for? The people dumb enough to give publishers MORE money for a half-assed, unfinished game? Are they supposed to read this article and be converted? I don't pre-order anything and I rarely spend more than $40 on a game, so I truly don't give a shit.

If some rich douchebag has found a way to separate fools from their money, good for him. LOL

  • GE-Proton9-10 Released
  • Ah I see, that's probably what confused me.

  • GE-Proton9-10 Released
  • Wasn't the Glorious Eggroll guy supposed to stop developing GE Proton in favor of a different, better way of doing it? I forget the specifics but I remember seeing that posted several months ago.

EDIT: found it, it's ULGWL, since renamed to "umu". Anybody know if that's still happening? I was under the impression that the guy was going to eventually drop Proton GE completely for umu. But maybe I misunderstood.

  • Megyn Kelly is a Two-Faced Hack & More Trump Meltdowns
  • If you dislike these people, stop letting them live rent-free in your head. He got elected the first time because left-leaning media wouldn't stop attacking him, which just made conservatives love him more. Do you not see that the exact same thing is happening again? You know he's going to win, right? He's going to win, and it will be for the same stupid reasons.

  • own homepage to show basic info with a couple of images
  • If you want a no-code solution, I recently created a homepage using GrapesJS (for free). I'm hosting it on Cloudflare Pages (for free). The whole setup was dead simple and almost completely free, I'm only paying for the domain.

EDIT: oops, that isn't technically self-hosted....but GrapesJS is a very cool tool for building a simple HTML website. Just make it looks like you want and it'll spit out all the files you need for hosting wherever your heart desires. Caddy, GitHub, whatever.
