Mine’s so bad I can’t even play FPSs without getting sick, but being very open about that means I hear from a lot of people with less severe systems who will power through their nausea for short sessions with friends to avoid embarassment, which is why I think the way I do.
They already do that in most jurisdictions. Solve the root problem, and the surface problem will be fixed. Only fix the surface, and…well, it’s like weeding dandelions.
I’m sure both sides are actually doing this. It’s just that only one side is actually being persecuted and forced to leave their homes.
I can live with the burden of that knowledge. 😉
I’d rather be armed give them something to fearmonger about than have them use completely fabricated fearmongering to attack me when I’m unarmed.
Edit: If your hatred of guns overwhelms your fear of armed fascists, you might want to read some of the period responses to the activities surrounding the 1923 Munich Putsch. And if you think free (I won’t pretend they’re fair) elections can’t lead to authoritarianism, you may want to look at the 1932 German elections.
I’ve thought we were fucked since the early 2000s, so I’m pretty sure the right wing media didn’t convince me. It was the telltale Constitution beating under the floorboards. Also, I assume you’re aware that your enemies can want you to believe things that also happen to be true?
We already tried ignoring these fools. We got January 6th for our troubles. I think it’s time for a plan B.
They aren’t interested in governing a ham sandwich. It’s easier to make the ham sandwich impossible to govern by soaking it in poison.
I was pretty much with you until you got to foreign powers invading. Seems unlikely. At worst, we’d end up with the two strongest armies on earth (both American) fighting each other. I can’t think of another country on earth who would think it worth it to cross an ocean and occupy the territory. If he have a civil war, there’s a good chance China will try and take Taiwan, but I don’t see California, or even Hawaii, as worth invading in terms of RoI, economic or political.
Someone clearly doesn’t attend a lot of comedy shows. 😛
Every right-wing accusation is a confession.
Our electoral system (USA) is a failure, but using that as “proof” elections don’t work is kind of like trying to use the fact that you can’t run Baldur’s Gate 3 on an Apple II as “proof” that computing doesn’t work. It’s not a serious argument, it’s admission of a personal thirst for authoritarianism. Anyone who wants to lick boots is welcome to hire a dominatrix and leave the rest of us out of it.
Fascists have a tendency of killing anyone in their way, so I wouldn’t bet on them waiting their “turn.”
Also, I want us to be fair to Morlocks. In addition to eating the Eloi, Morlocks provided the labor that kept the Eloi comfortable. The right provides no such advantages.
The constitution only applies when the billionaires giving them huge bribes say it does. Couldn’t be simpler.
This has been a big problem in beauty products particularly, I know. People having sudden reactions to a cream they’ve used for years, because it’s actually a counterfeit.
Micellar water is your friend. Find some reusable cotton rounds, put micellar water on one, take the nastiness off your face without a sink. It it perfect? No. Better than nothing? Yes. I wash my face in the shower every morning. Would it be better if I did it with lukewarm water over the sink? Yes. Would that happen? 🤣🤣🤣. And the only way I remember SPF is by putting it at the core of a morning makeup routine. I can see whether I put on lipstick; can’t really see or feel my face SPF. (Etude Sunprise Mild SPF 50+++. Not for dry skin.). Visual reminders are great.
I’m guessing OP means it’s harder now than before the corporate siloing of the social web, not harder than handing out business cards on the street.
Oh look, MORE enshittification.
Honestly, I’m on the side of the oppressed worker, even the robot worker.
Would you feel differently if they weren’t showing real estate ads for homes in largely white communities to PoC? Because that’s the same principle, given that that’s why the law was made. I’m not upset that we’re enforcing nondiscrimination law; we don’t do it enough.
