  • You can't expect the assholes who need to win to "just enjoy the game" when they aren't playing multiplayer games for that reason.

As for point 2, every server-sode solution I've seen has just not worked lol. RuneScape comes to mind when I think of how much that seems to fail

  • "that doesn't work" people are just better educated versions of the my-anecdote-disproves-science types. Those people usually need more local engagement because of fuckin-course you can't tell if voting is working when the gap between the individual voter and federal level reps is so huge. Anyone who's paying attention to their local elections knows votes matter.

  • Nah, I'd say this fits solidly in the category of "heaps of research indicating that single men suffer more in situations that promote isolation". Adversarial language or not, the average Lemmy users is so far in their own social phobia that they don't register that most humans, being social animals, thrive with MORE interaction and not less.

  • Nah I just don't think blatantly unsafe behavior which reflects poorly on the rest of the cyclists should be cheered on just because the person who is filming is a moron. They clearly didn't set up this ride to shutdown the full street so everyone should be on the correct side of the road.

People misbehaving always make these types of protests look bad.

  • The car with a complaining bitch whining while still fully stopped? Still following the rules of the road? Just because someone is taking out their ass while filming doesn't stop my point, which has been from the get-go a point about the cyclists who, unlike the rest of their group, are riding in oncoming traffic where the roads have clearly not been closed.

  • If they were also on a bike would the cyclists suddenly be unsafe? No, being on the wrong side of the road is unsafe. Idk why that's hard to understand, especially in a protest that's supposed to promote safer biking conditions. People riding into oncoming traffic is exactly the justification assholes are using for ripping out bike lanes. Shit people just follow the rules of the road.

  • Unpopular Opinion @lemmy.world

Lemmy users lack nuace and it stops actual discussion.
