Lemons(?) of Lemmy, what is something that feels so obvious to you that you just get lowkey pissed at the world for not knowing?
  • Drying with air blower is better than not drying? Mhh but its not like that washing without drying is worse than not washing? Yeah i mean bacteria like wet areas but i dont see the point that drying is they key point about the hygiene. I sweat a lot and my hands take a big part of it. So even after drying they get wet really fast, so i think the most important part is Soap. These little mafuckers love it wet but more they hate it if its alcaline. So dont save up on the Soap :)

  • I miss text-based tutorials
  • I am always saying reddit and discord are killing the use of forums and therefore are killing a lot of content that would be accesible and readable for people in the future. Discord is my main problem with that. Back in the days games had their own forums and people would post guides and they could be sticked to the top. But in discord servers so often you just have long ass on going conversations that hardly give you any information. It is nice to have the option to chat and look for groups and the abillity to immediatly join a group voice chat with said people.

A friend send me a link from a reddit post with same topic but it was french and i dont use reddit anymore. But i miss the small communities for games like Dungeon Crawl by Stone Soup, some good old roguelike :)

  • Hakita (Creator of ULTRAKILL) on Piracy
  • Love my dad for getting us a chipped PS 1. Fridays going go a rental shop and rent 1 to 2 games. Test them out. If they are alright dad tries to burn/copy the games for us. As you can see still we were pirating games but couldnt afford to rip all them games. What a beatiful childhood memory :D

  • Yes they are cheap, but you cant say every can. It would even be better if it was phrased with should. Let em pirate the game and check it out. Many games dont have good demo and you are wasting your money. Even if it were just 5 bucks, you could have spend your spare 5 dollar on a game you already enjoyed and credit the development. And maybe i would even pay more if i choose the price myself

  • The reality of modern tech
  • In this universe. I didnt want to have 10 fucking different toolbars for my browser. You had to see the correct download button, so that you get your wanted download plus malware/viruses. If you got the wrong you got a lot of malware xD

  • And i dont have any problem with companies knowing/assuming my gender and age. They arent crucial for me. If i tell you my age now you can use the info as long as you know when you got it. Data like visited websites, items you looked at, places you had vacation. I think there are much more valuable and protectable personal information as gender and age( age as long as it isnt exact date of birth)

  • The US has so much space
  • I'd also like to point out that 29 hours is 1 day and 5 hours, so not that far off from the fastest route if you go through Sweden.< Yeah thats my point. It took me too long to realize that it is only 6 hours more. 35 hours vs 29 hours or 1d5h and 1d1hh. Conversion problem. When everything else is metric, you can get it wrong some times, my bad.

  • The US has so much space
  • Damn, i was like " how slow are you travelling in norway? New zealand guy also posted ca 2500 km and it just took him 29 hours. How can he do it in less than a day when you need almost two days"
