I just realized we've talked before!
This is a problem I've noticed between different apps and interfaces. I've actually had this username set as my screen name on my old account for a couple of months now. But I notice that different apps seem to randomly choose whether they're going to display usernames or screen names. For example, Eternity displayed screen names, Summit only displays usernames unless you go into a profile.
It's pretty cool here. I've mainly made the switch so that I can see that alt community. Which is actually just as dead as all of the other interests I like to regularly interact with lol. And I'm pretty the one person around here that regularly posts content I enjoy is pretty sick of seeing me by now.
So I've actually started using Fcb*k a bit again, sadly. At least I can doomscroll and comment on things without feeling like a nuisance or loser lol. That's where I'm getting my supply of memes from right now. Maybe if I can help other people not feel so alone here if I join in and post the content that I'd like to see. Not sure how long it's going to last thirty because this isn't what I really want out of a platform like this. Posting memes and shit is actually kinda boring compared to commenting on memes and shit.
That's just paranoid to me. I had three or four different accounts over my time at Reddit. And I've had multiple different usernames since the forum days. I'm pretty sure a lot of people here never just had one Reddit account or username between those. And I mean, come on. You have to shop around different instances here.
At this point, if someone is going to make accusations like that despite linking to my old people in this profile's bio and vice versa, then they're probably just unpleasant and paranoid people.
Oof it's just alts all the way down lol. I've actually received a DM out of the blue for interacting with that person. And maybe it's true. But the fact that I was also accused not long ago makes me wonder if there's DMs going around behind my back whenever anyone interacts with me too.
All I can say is that this is a mess that makes everyone involved look bad.
Ha! I also had someone accuse me of being an alt account of someone else the other day. And the impression that I got from that accusation was that it was a case of "you're not falling in line and following the script and you're saying something unpopular, therefore you must be a bot / troll." And I've definitely seen people around here accusing others of being alts in various comment sections too. To the point where I'm going to just stop taking it seriously.
At this point, I don't care what the cliquey in crowd around here says or dictates. I'll make up my own mind. I'm sick of both the internal politics and a lot of these grumbly neckbeards around here too.
Been a while since I watched this. I think Angel does get referred to with he/him pronouns and is kinda male coded. But beyond that, he's gender non-conforming at the least but could very well be non-binary / trans.
Not American but the first time I ever heard about this was from the Watchmen series a couple of years ago.
Seems to be 24 hours now, from what I've seen. I waited until 24 hours after the timestamp on my user settings file and now I've been able to successfully import today. It was also 24 hours last time I encountered this a month or two ago.
It is really annoying. It's little things like this that they should make a priority to fix because it's things like this that'll make people look for another platform in the mean time.
South Africa. Might be eligible for UK citizenship though thanks to a recent-ish change that allows maternal ancestry (how progressive of them), just need the funds to get that ball rolling. And I missed out on Dutch citizenship because my father had to be the only one of his siblings born in South Africa and not the Netherlands.
Like, I think I say "like" quite a bit. And I've noticed that I use "awesome" quite a lot. And "personally" when I'm giving my opinion about something, especially typing on a platform like this, I sometimes need to reword my shit to avoid frequent use of "personally" lol. Also, for some reason this stuck in my mind, according to a word cloud on Reddit a while ago, one of my most frequently used words of all is "people".
Other than that, I say "what the fuck" to myself fairly often while reading the news these days. And I think "holy shit" is also up there "awesome" for me.
Edit: oh I think I also say something like "know what I mean?" quite a lot too.
Edit 2: also "I mean". I mean, seriously.
We probably lowkey have similar styles from what I've seen so far. The other day I was even this close to responding to a comment if yours in one of those fashion posts in Women's Stuff, by quickly whipping together almost the exact outfit you described, complete with the Nirvana t-shirt lol, and responding with the photo.
In high school I was in school uniform with short back and sides. And in boarding school most of that time. So those were pretty much my normie years, apart from maybe looking like a Blink 182 music video extra on weekends lol.
Grew my hair as soon as I got out of school. I was pretty much 'grunge' or something like that. But I also wore a tie sometimes. Or experimented with nail polish and shit when I got the chance. Had a couple of piercings in my face.
Had my hippie phase in my early 20s. Then back to grunge or just general alternative. Although I was in metal bands during this time.
Spent the last 10 years or so mostly looking like a normie but I guess I'm 'grunge' again now with flannel shirts + long hair lol. I'm actually wanting to start pushing boundaries again in various ways, as budget allows.
When I tried to import all of my subscriptions from my old account into this one, I accidentally clicked export instead of import. Now it's been saying "try import or export again in a few minutes" for the last few hours. This has happened to me before when I've tried exporting twice in one day. Apparently "a few minutes" equals 24 hours or something.
And if someone tells me that this is a known bug from 2 years ago that has never been addressed, it'll piss me off even more lol.
And also now that you've started it, it would kinda suck to stop now. There's still a chance that you're pleasantly surprised by the end of it lol. Maybe it's the feeling like you're kinda obligated to watch it that spoils it a bit too.
Haha I know the feeling. That kind of stuff usually sits on my watchlist for ages while I stall. Been a while since I've subjected myself to something like that. Haven't seen Generation Kill either, not too big into war stuff myself.
In recent memory:
- Swamp Thing (cancelled after one season on a cliffhanger iirc)
- Y: The Last Man (cancelled after one season but at least all of the season 1 sub plots ended nicely)
- Stargirl (like The Owl House, which I agree with, had a good and pretty satisfying ending but still ended prematurely)
- Sandman & Dead Boy Detectives (not going to watch Sandman season 2, Dead Boy Detectives ended on a pretty major cliffhanger and I was enjoying it)
Inside you there are two Princesses of Power:
There's probably other things too but your comment got me thinking about this t-shirt that was hand painted for me by a good friend / crush / over all influential person for me. Back when I was still in my hippie phase.
It's unfortunately not wearable now. It was already not new to start with and this is from 15 to 20 years ago. So it's got a tear or two and the material is fragile these days. Been thinking of what to do with it, possibly might frame it or something.
