Youtube revanced extended parsing issue.
  • Redownloaded the manager app, patched youtube, downloaded new MicroG and signed in, but Revanced app won't let me sign in, just keeps spinning. Also, even after turning on spoofing, videos still do the endless buffer around the 40sec mark. Anyone experience this and figure out what's missing?

  • I personally use GL.iNet routers. Basically you create VPN tunnels between a WG(WireGuard) server hosted on one router, and WG clients hosted on another GL.iNet router or a device that supports the WG app (PC and mobile afaik). The router using the WG server is facing WAN so no need to port forward and you can use it to connect to your jellyfin server as well as RDP or SSH into your server. The WG clients are simple, just need to be connected to the Internet. The tunnels bandwidth is based on your ISP's upload speed(fiber is great, with coax good luck streaming 4k) where the WG server is located. You can use WG without the router too, but I'll just speak to my experience.

Edit: YT link to intro for the routers - https://youtu.be/LXbDg1v65Qs?feature=shared

  • What is the motive behind private trackers?
  • Piracy is more about preserving knowledge than sharing knowledge, after all, torrents are not really accessible for the majority of people. There's a tech barrier plus in most places you want a VPN. Then you need decent bandwidth and a reliable connection. Private Trackers are all about preserving media. Maintaining healthy seeds is important, especially when it comes to media that is very niche or no longer in circulation, "legally". Sites come and go, especially public trackers. Seeders also come and go. Private trackers last a lot longer, and have more dedicated seeders. It's difficult and time consuming to be a dedicated seeder, and it's much more rewarding to host your files on a private tracker than a public one.

  • Which are the best SFW extensions for Tachiyomi?
  • Tachiyoni has been great, I use MangaDex for almost everything, Colored Manga and Comick are nice too. Check out Vagabond, Vinland Saga and Parasyte. You can find Parasyte in full color too.

  • Where to find torrents?
  • Bitsearch is a good indexer for finding torrents from across multiple sites, but check the source as best you can, and then use a VPN and scan the files after.

    https://www.bitsearch.to/search?q=pimsleur+dutch

You can also search in qbittorrent with the search plugin, it'll be easier to see the sources from there.

  • D&D Apps
  • Man so many apps that are showing up as not supported for my phone, this is the third one now, I wonder what it is, besides my phone just being considered "old" by the corporate overlords haha

  • D&D Apps
  • I see, so apparently my phone won't support it, no idea why, I've got a pixel5a on android13. It is rooted if that changes anything. This happened with another app I was recommended, but I just found an APK online, guess I'll do the same with this one.

Edit: Seems to be Google shenanigans:

Starting from 1 Nov 2022, apps that don't target an API level within two years of the latest Android release (API 29 and below) won't be available to new users with devices running Android versions newer than your app's target API level. This means that new users won't be able to discover or install your app on Google Play

  • D&D Apps
  • Couldn't find Fight Club on android, so probably just iOS. I'll check out Foundry, it's awesome just how many tools have been created for d&d, but I suppose expected with such a strong fanbase. Wish I got into this back in HS.

  • D&D Apps
  • Thanks for this! Our DM might want us to print everything out as some of the players might be distracted by their phones lol. If it works well with Adobe I'm guessing it will be easy to print.

  • D&D Apps

Some friends wanted to start a campaign and I'm trying to digitize my character sheet. Initially I was going to use d&dbeyond so I could send my DM the character sheet digitally and make it easier for them, but I can't pick Drow without paying for the character, for whatever silly reason. I've been checking out all the apps I can find on the play store and I can't find any with Drow.

Are their any apps that give you all the character options? I'm using Android but I don't mind switching over to my laptop (Windows/Linux). I had originally wanted an offline app but opted for online to help the DM, but since that won't be possible anymore I could care less. Still, online apps are fine as I can just block their access to the internet or suffer the occasional ad if I really must.

    Nielsen TV Ratings

Hello all, my apartment has been selected by Nielsen to participate in their program. We don't really watch much TV but the min is 1h/month and we get something like $500 in the first 2-3 months, so that's my incentive to say yes. My concern is of course letting Nielsen know that some of the movies/shows I watch were pirated.

I've talked with one of their techs and this is how it's setup: They hook up a box to my AP, connect it to the network, then mount two RF scanning devices to each TV to listen for hidden broadcast signals and to confirm who is watching by having us check-in with a remote-like device. Then they make sure my TVs/streaming devices are on the same network as their box, and they somehow link them via MAC addresses. Nothing is connected to phones or PCs.

Here's my setup: I'll have a guest network created for the box and I'll move the TVs/streaming devices over to that network when I want Nielsen to see what I'm watching. Everything else is on the main network, and I use VPNs on my PCs and phones anyways. I also have a remote server I connect to via a different AP which has a WG tunnel. From this server I stream movies/TV shows via JellyFin, and when I want to connect to it I switch the TVs wifi connection over to the WG AP.

    My concerns:

Can Nielsen see what I'm doing regardless of what network my TVs/Streaming devices are on, due to them having the MAC addresses and everything of course going out via my ISPs WAN?

Does it matter if they detect pirated content? I've heard it doesn't but these things can change I'm sure, and I am in a country where you can get in trouble.

If I were to change networks on my TVs/streaming devices will their box complain? This is something I plan on asking the tech when I talk to him next.

It's hard to find much info on the subject that isn't dated as Nielsen has changed how there setup works in the last few years.

Thank you fellow crew members and Cheers!
