The Royston Cave Virtual Experience | Royston Cave
  • You'll never leave!

  • Cacio e pepe (Roman pasta with pepper and cheese)
  • What's your recipe/technique for this? Whenever I make it I can only ever succeed in clumping up the pecorino (although I have to use gluten free pasta which maybe contains less starch than regular pasta). Doesn't stop it from being very tasty but I want to be able to do it properly!

  • Discrimination not enough for asylum - Braverman - BBC News
  • I don't know how easy it is to abuse a system whereby if you want to claim asylum you need to prove you are gay in an interview... It was only as recently as 10 years ago where applicants were literally submitting their own photos and videos to try to prove their sexuality. While this has since been stopped (by Theresa May of all people), I can't imagine that such a interview process is much less difficult to manipulate or harrowing for an an asylum seeker.

Also the statement that "The UK cannot be the refugee camp for the entire world" is so bafflingly ignorant and flippant that I can barely believe it. Deciding to focus on some of the most marginalized and vulnerable people is revolting.

  • What are your favorite single player games to go back to?
  • At the moment, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. The one I've revisited the longest and most often is Dragon's Dogma.

  • What are some podcasts that you really recommend ?
  • Knifepoint Horror. No other horror podcast has ever come close to being as good for me

  • We risk being seen as the ‘nasty party’ again, warn senior Conservatives
  • "If we're quick with a response, maybe no-one will have noticed - right chums?"

  • Cool YouTube cooking channels?
  • Jun's Kitchen A little less easy to follow but it's always a pleasure to watch him cook. You'll feel jealous of the quality of food he makes for his cats

  • Lactose free latte
  • As others have said, lactose free milk! As another option, my local vegan cafe also offers things like oat milk and coconut milk - and while they don't quite give the same foam as regular milk, I reckon they make a much better tasting latte.

  • We risk being seen as the ‘nasty party’ again, warn senior Conservatives
  • The risk of us being tarnished then as the nasty party again, I think, becomes very real.

I understand that this is more aimed at moderate conservatives but still... Isn't it just a wee bit late to be realising this?

  • What game feels 'timeless' to you?
  • Considering the limitations of the console it's incredible just how high quality the game is, the music especially. Timeless masterpiece.

  • What game feels 'timeless' to you?
  • Hearing the music and the cry of a silt strider just makes me feel home

  • What's the most toxic game community you know of?
  • As a FFXIV player, your experience or understanding of the game sounds like an outlier... I've played for 2+ years, it's the most positive, welcoming and lively community I've ever come across!

  • The indie publishing mavericks shaking up the UK books world
  • Presses like Fitcarraldo, Charco, 404 etc. are responsible for introducing me to some of the best reads I've had in recent hears, from authors like Jon Fosse, Olga Tokarczuk, Helen McClory and Selva Almada. I was introduced to the women in translation month through these publishers and it's led to some of the most meaningful reads I've ever had. I therefore have a lot of love for many of these publishers and it's fantastic to see so many of them making such an impact.

  • Favorite Local-ish Roaster?
  • In the UK: UE Coffee Roasters, in Oxfordshire!

  • Official reddit app is #1 news app in the Danish iOS app store
  • The play store reviews are actually localised, if you check the further info under the overall review score there's a message box which pops up to explain this.

  • Lemmy vs Reddit in a nutshell
  • As a Reddit user who's recently moved to Lemmy - that's a fair point, you fucking moron

  • Unpopular Opinion: Isekai/Fantasy mangas should not focus on cooking
  • Poor Dungeon Meshi getting called out here... However it's one of the best series' I've read for years and I would highly, highly recommend it - I love all the insane food it somehow invents. And in fact it somehow remains the focal part of the story, despite the ridiculous twists it takes.

  • That's why no one with half a brain downloads the official Reddit app.
  • I'd legitimately never seen what the Reddit app looks like as I always used RIF but good grief it's actually somehow worse than I'd been led to believe.

  • That's why no one with half a brain downloads the official Reddit app.
  • Wouldn't surprise me if a vast majority of the posts on that sub come from bots.

  • Let's all pray to the Saint of good extractions, so the Lemmy coffee community will grow 🙏
  • Request for someone to replace the heart icon here with a refractometer
