Spotify is raising the cost of Premium subscriptions, again
  • Worked great when I moved from Google to Spotify due to YTM. A few songs didn't transfer correctly, a few saved as covers of the original but as they shuffled I'd just manually search them and correct it.

  • Darknet Diaries- interesting history/current internet crimes and shenanigans

Criminal, Serial and Smartless - mind able to wander while driving but interesting to capture attention if it decides it's better then random thoughts

For long road trips I'll download a bunch of episodes from The Moth. Total crap shoot if it will be the most depressing or thought provoking story.

It's a real shame that Radiolab seems to have fallen so far from these lists.

  • My trusty old friend that I always forget to use. 7 years and the corkscrew and bottle opener remain unused. The knife and scissor have done some good work tho!
  • No... Not unless I bring them. I service fire alarms so I could be on some near abandoned building on the reserve in the Everglades and scrub in to a hospital operating room same day. Schedules and plans go out the window and the amount of crap I have to carry in my vehicle is insane. Multi use tools are almost a necessity.

  • But my job rarely needs a PH, 1/8" flat is probably 99% of what I need. If I need a PH then it's much more involved and I will grab my tool pouch. It's just unnecessary for my daily carry. Even at home if I need a PH then I take the 12 steps from my front door to my work truck and grab my pouch. So no... To me it's not worth $11. You are correct on $11 not making that much of difference but if I am going to carry an additional item then it's going to be bare minimum necessities so spending $11 on something I really don't want to carry around on the maybe once a month I would use it then I may as well just go buy a couple snickers bars and throw them away. Why spend the money? I'll probably never notice $11 in my account, you are correct. Why don't I just carry around the 3 pound SAK I already own?

  • Making a button to do this is apparently far too difficult
  • Use a service like privacy.com. Cancel the card they charge monthly... no phone call needed. Added benefit is if the vendor is compromised there is no loss...the cards can be locked to only allow charges from 1 business. Steal the credit card info... can't use it anywhere else.

  • What hobby seems boring to most people but is actually fascinating if you dive into it?
  • Its different, very slow. I figured it would be a little more relaxing but definitely not the case. Anxiety builds trying to figure out ways to climb without flipping repeatedly. Florida is flat and mostly sand so there's not very much in the way of natural places to run it. I resorted to taking rocks off of construction sites to make a small course in the corner of the yard.

  • I have not tried that yet. I did nitro off-road bashing years ago and have dabled in rock crawling with a little SCX-24. There's a local indoor track with a drifting course... not real fond of management otherwise I'd race in the air conditioning a lot more.

  • Recently joined an on-road RC racing club.

Gets a lot deeper than I ever thought it could. The mechanics of making a car go around turns better/faster gets very in depth. Lots of trial and error. Race every 2 weeks so tons of time to experiment with adjustments between race days.

Ages range from near 80 to 10... everyone out just having a good time and helping each other for a few hours. During winter, Florida busy season, we have 50+ people racing 5-6 different classes in a public parking lot.

Started with a used off the shelf car for $75 from a club memeber 5 months ago... now building competition grade kits and put up shelves in the bedroom for all 7 of my cars. Almost all used for VERY cheap that just needed a bit of love to be competitive again.

  • Money is the biggest issue. I've had my general for years... have never been able to afford a radio to use those bands at home. Ive had a magnetic loop antenna all ready to use in my garage for several years but no radio to run it. The local 2m/70cm is just old guys complaining usually. Passing traffic is fun during hurricanes... Only so many times I can enjoy trying to hit satellites that are swamped with people.

  • Saw Bob Dylan in concert 10-15 years ago...he was the opening act for the dead of I remember correctly. Hard rock.. Crowd was not happy, ended his set with Rainy Day Woman and crowd went nuts.

No... Usually not happy when they change. They are changing as an artist, good for them that it's not just about the money because they probably lose plenty in the process most of the time.
