There is only Corporate media
Very early we started allowing the parties to administer the the primaries to avoid having to raise taxes to pay for elections
We outsourced elections to the Fan(atic)s because they cost less,
They still get paid in proximity to power
Having the occasional binary popularity contest to decide who should be in charge may not be the best method
It been all over since the guy[shrub] who lied us into two 20 year wars & brought us the Patriot act, got re elected
Haliburton won, the DoD who can't pass an audit continues to have an open checkbook & ever increasing budget
Then we moved to Hope & Change, that turned out to be great for banks & insurance companies
Every cycle is portrayed as vitally important with a platform of
We Suck Less
The Donor Class calls the tune
Allowing money to overtly be speech removed the pretense of representation for the rest of us
The expectations have changed
Avoiding the appearance of impropriety
Degraded to
Maintain Plausible Deniability
Eroded to
Prove it in a Rigged Court of Law Beyond any Conceivable Doubt no Matter How Absurd
Enabling all this is a solid 1/3rd of the population that have reduced empathy
Energized by the various corporate media that have been consolidated into unanimous support for
our not so benevolent overlords
"German Research Centre for Geosciences in Potsdam, says that “carbon capture and storage” (CCS) can be done safely in the saltwater and limestone pores at 600 to 1,200 meters below the seabed. “It will either dissolve as carbonic acid or bind with the limestone,” she says. Injection sites in the North Sea are the German government’s main solution for so-called “unavoidable emissions,” like those from the cement and other industries"
Basically another subsidy harvesting scheme
There isn't even the expectation that the co2 will stay in porous limestone, but instead end up making the oceans more acidic, which is already a problem with elevated atmospheric co2 levels
A crisis of excess consumption & growth can't be solved, by growing in a slightly different way
Bill Maher is libertarian
Ron White
Kathleen Madigan
Bill Engvall
Dennis Miller
Not really right wing as old & whiney
Joe Rogan thinks he's funny
Sometimes when trolling conservatives I'll exclaim
Stop It
You Know Better
At that point they'll either shut up or lash out with an ad hominum
My wrist will not tolerate using a mouse for more than a few hours
You use a mouse on your phone?
Israel is an extreme example of colonization, formed with the barrel of a gun under the guise of returning to homeland. Somehow being at the wrong end of a genocide entitles Israelis to commit their own? Why does the USA continues to support & fund an overt theocracy?
Project 2025 = Powell Memorandum 2.0
Conservative after having their wildest dreams come true packing the supreme court
They needed new dreams
The result a 900 page dream journal
Complete with their very own self induced Armageddon/purge
Conservatives over played their hand
Playing for the tie only works if it's close
We should all make sure it isn't, Again!
What's a mouse?
I use a trackpad
The lenovo version of trackpad on my thinkpad has buttons on the top & bottom along with trackpoint that works when nothing else will..
I even have a usb keyboard with a trackpad
I bought a gaming mouse [not logitech] to set up a distro that wouldn't install by trackpad for $12 once the install finished, it sits on a shelf
A forever mouse is a solution in search of a problem
The customer base of people who use mice is shrinking, most people use their phones or pads a majority of the time
Artist is defined as someone who can afford to defend their rights in court
It's great for the guild of lawyers, they would describe the situation as billable hours...
Not an "artist, songwriter or journalist" You're on your own
You're free to be pillaged for you data by ai
There is no ai without stolen data
I lived this from the factory floor in the central valley of california from 1980-2010
In my experience safety was driven by workmens comp insurance companies. The would be a clip board conga line a couple of times a year made up of representatives of our company & insurance company people, checking to see if their "suggestions" had been implemented & new threats [to the bottom line] identified
Anyone who had a moderate to serious injuries were fired with the expectation the injured would sue the [insurance] company, requiring a lawyer who got a percentage of the award
A fun bit of outsourcing that generates billable hours for the guild of lawyers & shifts responsibility back to the victim
As time went on the monthly mandatory safety meetings became the perfect time for all of us to sign off on liability for normal operations
I found the suggestion box to be a powerful tool
Careful wording can force managers to answer difficult questions in front of all the other managers :D
The primary dysfunction is corporate personhood, more than all the rights of a human,
none of the responsibilities beyond the bottom line
Socialize the costs
Privatize the profits
Money as speech has always been the case
Having an impactful political opinion has always required one to have excess resources, what rules there might have been eroded by the guild reinterpreting founders intent
The whole exercise of forming a religious state with approval & support of overtly secular countries is weird? No idea why we have ever supported what amounts to a 70 year genocide...
Is there a transcript?
Project 2025 = Powell memorandum 2.0
Ah Dems finding new ways to lose
The last time the incumbent wasn't the nominee
We got eight years of Dick
People will go to extraordinary lengths to avoid knowing the obvious, especially when money is involved
The rapists/perpetrators generally have stacks of cash/lawyers to avoid responsibility
Attempts at oversight are co opted by the rapists/perpetrators. The same grooming skills can be applied most situations
We aren't going to solve a crisis of excess consumption, with slightly different consumption
Example:
Replacing a 200hp ice vehicle with a 500hp electric vehicle isn't more sustainable, less actually
Extractive resources are greatly undervalued
Socializing the costs & privatizing the profits is the root
Example:
Once you punch holes through the aquifer, there is no repairing the damage, just temporary solutions that last decades not hundreds or thousands of years
As long as we use whatever the market will bear valuation, disconnected from the true long term costs & value added, the results will continue to do little to solve the issues
An important point:
"The higher level is: What do we do with these big corporations? One is we’ve got to subordinate them constitutionally. So corporations should never have equal rights with real people. Now they’re connecting with AI. You want a deadly cocktail? Connect artificial persons called corporations with AI.
Founders intent was for corporations to be temporary
https://reclaimdemocracy.org/corporate-accountability-history-corporations-us/
We have a system designed for 1% of the present population
We have a system designed for information moving at the speed of horse
Founders intent was a representative for 30,000 citizens, presently a representative for 700,000 citizens
We have a system that is completely over whelmed by the number & complexity of decisions to be made
We need more channels for informed feedback
Having a meaningful political opinion has
I lived in California in 2000 & voted for Ralph, knowing Gore had Cali in the bag
