I am happy for the Linux Mint team
  • Linux Mint as been in development for over 15 years. Its good for them to get some press coverage and positive attention.

As far as I can tell most people switching to Linux Mint are fairly happy with the experience beside some minor Linux quarks.

Linux Mint is great, but is outdated. In my opinion the Mint team should definitely separate itself from Ubuntu and stop making duplicate applications... They spend too much time and resources to separate servers to avoid Snap. LMDE is a good distro. With a little more attention it can become something bigger.

  • What was your first operating system or Linux Distribution?

  • I've used DDG for years but I'm worried that Microsoft has some power with them. Also that its headquarters is in the US, where there are hardly any laws that protect the user. I used Qwant for a season, based in France, but he asked me to remove the browser's ad blocker. Since then, I use a SearXNG instance, waiting to mount my own. Very happy.

  • Reddit is dead. Long live the Fediverse.
  • Unfortunately, reddit has been too long and entrenched in society to "remove" it from our browsers. It is very different from Twitter or another social network. Lemmy is a great project. I hope it works and establishes itself as a real alternative, but it still has a long way to go. Unfortunately, the Reddit/Lemmy format is resource intensive, and that's the problem with a service like this.

It's my simple opinion. I support any fediverso project, but reddit, today I think it is irreplaceable.

  • The Best Password Managers in 2023
  • I use KeepassXC for years, but lately I'm having problems connecting it. I use it only offline and the Firefox plugin doesn't work very well. It has many options, too many in my opinion. I don't like having my passwords in a company's cloud. The selfhosting is the solution, but i dont have to know

  • The Exodus has started
  • I will also leave whatsapp. It's true that I hardly use it. In my case I use Telegram. Why to Signal? Telegram is much more widespread than Signal. I understand that Telegram is not 100% secure, but neither is Signal when you need a phone number. That is the first rule.
