Do you leave a tip for housekeeping if you're only staying one night in a hotel?
  • If I tip I generally do it based on the work/effort rather than the price.

I think "populism rule" would fit a bit better.

  • Should I get a PS5?
  • For a PC with Keyboard and mouse, I prefer a monitor.

But for a PS5 with a controller, yes. But not just a TV, the whole thing TV + sofa + ideally good speakers (personally I prefer 2.0 monitors to keep it simpler)

Some people use a console with a monitor, from a short distance. But I personally use it when I want to relax playing from the sofa on a big screen.

The only issue here is that my wife was the main TV user before I got the PS5, so now I need to add another TV in the bedroom or something.

  • Should I get a PS5?
  • The PS5 is amazing to play from the sofa. But I recommend getting a big 4K TV with 120Hz, VRR and good HDR (lot of nits) to get the most of it. (I have a basic HDR 4K60FPS 4-5 year old Samsung TV and the experience is still good).

I have a PC, SD and recently got a PS5. And lately I'm mainly playing GT7.

Now... every time I buy a game I check if I should get it on Steam or PS5.

For online paid games I always go with PC because in PS5 you have to pay a subscription.

The only things I don't like from the PS5 are games that run at 30FPS. And there are quite a lot. And, of course, that you have to pay a stupid 70€+ yearly subscription to be able to play paid games online with other humans.

GT7 and Warzone (the 2 I play the most) are 60 FPS. But FF16 is 30FPS and even on a controller is a bit painful to watch.

  • People Who Don't Wear Deodorant or Seemingly Bathe Regularly, Why?
  • Wearing deodorant has nothing to do with bathing regularly.

You can bath regularly and not need deodorant, every body is different. Also depends on the activities done between each bath/shower.

Now some people do not bath regularly and use deodorant or perfume, that never ends up well in terms of odor.

I wonder how much SoT you can fit if you don't charge the phone every day.

I used to charge my P5 every 3 nights but lately I do it every 2 nights, sometimes every night.

That being said. If I open Google maps just a few times per day (not even starting navigation), the standby time goes down like crazy.

  • UK spends more financing inequality in favour of rich than rest of Europe, report finds
  • Generally companies get lower tax rate than physical persons with 10+ years experience in many european countries. And the rich have all assets in their companies. In my opinion it should be lowered to match the same as the companies. As for the lower class that can barely afford stuff with a basic salary in some EU countries, stay very low or just null.

  • GOG or STEAM? how do you choose?
  • On PC (Linux). I prioritise Steam.

But if the game is much cheaper in other launchers that can be used with Lutris. Like Epic. That doesn't stop me from getting it there instead.

  • Chainsaw in hand, ‘anarcho-capitalist’ Javier Milei upends Argentina’s politics
  • In contrast to this (only 2 years to fix the inflation issues. The inflation that has been around since 2002~). He also mentioned in his first speech that the country would take 35 years to go back as a world power if everything goes well. (Source 13:25/15:31)

I do not think this will happen (hope I'm wrong), knowing the country's recent history, but I don't disagree with the time. This stuff is very long term and needs many years of success to happen.

Many people in Argentina think that all the stuff can be fixed in just 2 or 3 years. But truth is, it can improve, but will need lot more than that to reach a "world power" / "first world country" level.

On the other hand, the level of corruption is so high, that by just reducing it, it would make wonders.

  • Suggestions for a wireless headset, anyone?
  • I can't remember well. But: price in the X was good enough for me like 100€ maybe a bit less.

And secondly. The detachable microphone that can be located close to the mouth. That was a deal breaker for me because I use the headset to work (Microsoft teams) and play with friends (Warzone). And I like my voice to be as clear as possible. Especially if I have the windows open and some background noise.

So in short. I prefer unidirectional microphones that point to your mouth and if they are closer (so the gain doesn't need to be high), better.

  • Far-right outsider Milei wins Argentina presidential run-off election
  • I just hope that in the long term the country can finally liberate the people who are currently economically dependent on the state. So they can find their own economic path, no matter who is ruling.

They always give you money in Argentina. For exchange of a future vote, of course. But nobody really cares about giving you a way out where you are in charge and capable of finding and getting your own work and opportunities.

And the inflation, as always, eats the lowest class first, the one that has less opportunities to find a new job. And less capable of saving money. Remember that. The very high inflation is indirectly murdering people.

  • Suggestions for a wireless headset, anyone?
  • I use the "barracuda X" it's black no RGB. It has both Bluetooth and low latency wireless.

I use it mainly in Windows (work/gaming) and PS5 (gaming).

In Linux I used it for gaming too. The only difference is that sometimes the gain in the drivers is very high. But I think it could be my problem (for messing with the drivers in the past months) maybe I need a clean install.

  • VRR not working on "7 Days to die"

I can't make 7 days to die work with VRR (FreeSync).

Any reason it is not working?

Game is native linux, game has 2 engines (GLCore and Vulkan). I use GLCore because Vulkan I think it's beta and crashes. Game also has some launcher.

OS: Ubuntu 23.04, running it with Xorg. VRR works in other games (like games running with Proton).

    Thanks in advance

Edit: nevermind. I installed Plasma Wayland and VRR works out of the box. I'll use plasma while playing this game. And go back to gnome for other games.

I'm still interested in making VRR work in gnome for this game. But workaround is found.

Is there a way to 100% disable the background usage for an app?

App battery usage > "Restricted" does not work well with some apps.

Apps like Instagram, TikTok, etc, even if the background usage is restricted they still consume battery on background. And I don't need to receive any kind of notification from them until I open them.

Because of this I ended up uninstalling them and now I use Chrome. But the mobile web experience is much worse at least for Instagram.

Edit: some user recommended me "Ice Box" app to freeze apps in the background. I'm testing it and looks nice!

[Bug] If you edit a post, then you save, then you edit it again, the changes added in the previous edit are not there.

Example: I edit a post saying "Hello", i save it as "Hi" Then I open the edit menu again and it stills shows "Hello".

(The edit is saved in background but the app still has the old version loaded locally).

[Feature Request] Some toggle/option to Load more post than the ones shown on screen.

Is this possible or will hurt the performance, battery and memory in a way that it will be horrible? I'm not experienced with webapk apps.

I'd add it as a toggle so it is optional.

Reason: When scrolling (doesn't need to be an aggressive/long scrolling) I see a lot of stuff drawing. Since stuff loads very fast this would be more a visual improvement over a functional one.
