If you can be replaced by someone who isn't a citizen, might not speak english, has no home and has no friends or connections, then you're clearly just absolutely shit at your job, because you've got absolutely EVERY advantage over them. It's crazy that rightwingers are so eager to blame immigrants for taking jobs
In my case..
I just left a instance (which rhymes with seesaw) because one of the admins accused me of "starting a fight" and "not being nice" because I didn't agree with an article that was posted.
It was however perfectly acceptable for someone to instantly accuse me of wanting to kill an entire group of people and of being a bad person (I won't be specific, but it was a very clear exaggeration and the comment was overlooked by the admin). But, I wasn't being "nice" because I calmly explained my perspective on the lawsuit the article was about (and apparently having a difference of opinion is considered "fighting" lol). And honestly, my opinion wasn't extreme in any capacity either (in fact, it half agreed with them)..
And it was such a pity because the other admins there seem so cool, and I loved the idea of the instance (I actually donated originally)
So, yep, I can definitely agree, it's so easy to move around.
So far, I've actually found the people on other instances to be really cool actually (which I wasn't expecting, because my original instance portrayed the rest of Lemmy as a bit of a cesspool at times honestly)
They are also probably the same wankers who waste Blood banks time telling them they should set up "pure blood" donations or whatever.
Because I'm sure in an emergency, hospital staff have time to dick around and appease grown toddlers.
I was fine on Reddit. But now it's a bit of a cesspool. No moderating
I just left another instance for lemmy world though because it become clear at least 1 admin was applying lower standards to certain people. So, just keep in mind it can happen here too.
The admin basically ignored someone instantly bragging me as a bigot who wanted to kill lots of people (thats ok apparently), but simply disagreeing with the article, was "trying to start a fight"
I suspect the admin will increasingly apply unbalanced standards to suit their opinion, and it will increasingly turn into an echo chamber (and it's such a pity because the other admins are so cool about everything and managing things)
Maybe democrats should start removing all the tp from the men's bathrooms at the republican rallies
Not sure if it would teach them much though.
Stuff like this is honestly such a stupid toxic hill to die on.
It's such a common sense policy (similar to having water fountains at schools).. There are only huge benefits
Yeah. We all regularly try to start an insurrection.
I guess for people like him, and his followers, they would consider that normal
Id like to agree, but unfortunately, I've found in general, Trump has programmed them to be distrustful of science and the government
I think the Harris and Walz campaign though genuinely have a chance of getting a lot of them back onboard
He won't. The only reason he is running this time is to stay out of jail though I think.
If he drops out, I guarantee he's going to be doing a runner shortly after.
It's more likely he'll use this event to set up things for a civil war
This is quite obviously a joke....
Sounds all a bit fake tbh
As an Aussie, so happy for you guys and the Dem selection.
Your politics (good and bad) often flows down to Australia.
And unfortunately, so much of that politics at the moment is the stupid stuff like "Induction stoves are like sticking your head in a microwave", constant lies about heatpump AC and water heaters. Also, constant nonsense about the climate and lefties being weak or whatever (which is particularly insane, because woman and the LGBTIQ are actually overrepesented in the number of badasses I know, by a long shot).
And, I'm even more tired of the echo chamber they try to create, where they believe science is dictated by upvotes.
What I find impressive, is that Walz and Harris both seem genuinely interested in helping people, and I'm really hoping their personalities flows back down to Australia.
