Well said. I think bringing the house price down will hurt not just owner as you said. It will hurt the government quite a bit. I remember a good chunk of Vancouver government revenue (to lazy to check the exact amount) is coming from property tax. And that is a percentage of the house price. They would have to cut lots of expenses if housing prices do go down. Which most voters won't enjoy either.

Yes that is what I would want to try, smaller local sandwich places. I am hoping they would make some part of the sandwiches in their shop ( bake their bread or deli) instead of buying everything in bulk.

Donno anything about home construction but as mentioned in the article, most people with single lot home are seniors. I would suspect the problem for them is finding a contractor that they can trust or how to get funds.

But as u said, if they don't let google to crawl, they lose ads revenue now. Tough choice.
