Oh man. First time I went to the casino, I brought $40 and left my wallet in the car on purpose as I didn’t trust myself not to go crazy. Good thinking on my end… By the time I was done spending that amount, I was already scheming ways to go and grab my wallet without the people I was there with seeing me go back to the car. The very few times I went back since were with my wife, and she’s great at recognizing and regulating what I call my “stupid brain”, but it really showed me how I shouldn’t be trusted alone with that shit. I can definitely see it becoming a problem if I ever went alone…

Not gonna lie, after reading the comments, including yours... You don’t feel like this in your 30s. You do feel like this when you’re depressed. I know I did/do. You’re pretty much communicating you have no sense of self-esteem nor self-worth. I heavily implore you to get some help. All I can say is, you may not believe me, but it does get better. You do need to recognize you need and want the help in the first place, though.
Interesting… If anything, the main reasons I don’t live like a total slob are my wife and children, not the other way around. Don’t get me wrong, I could still do much more for my health, I don’t eat particularly well, I should do more cardio work, etc. However, I’m fairly certain I just wouldn’t have that intrinsic motivation if it wasn’t for their presence.
You may consider them a friend, but the behaviour you’re describing shows they aren’t treating you like one.

10F/-13C is a relatively comfy winter day up here haha! IMHO the biggest factor with how cold it feels is wind chill. -13F/-25C without wind is much more tolerable than 5F/-15C with wind bringing the feels-like temps to the former.
