so when do us network engineers start seeing Tbps-class DDoS attacks from every single DoD /8 IP block because Big Balls™ is using it as a DDoS-as-a-service botnet? :D

I'm probably gonna get clowned for feeding the troll, but - this comment comes off a lot more harsh if you've ever experienced not having access to the Internet and a smartphone or computer.

I spent the better part of 16 years of my life with no TV, MP3 player, phone, Internet, or computer - and it has negatively impacted me in immeasurable ways. I couldn't find work, because I couldn't apply for jobs but also I didn't know you could do that on the Internet - I also didn't know YouTube existed, so I missed out on learning the things I liked, and I didn't know I was being abused because I had no way of knowing that it wasn't normal until I got access to help, via the Internet.

I wasn't in the stone age - if I'd had options to do any of the above without a phone or the Internet, I'd be a different person today. Shut up, mate - not everyone can afford or has the opportunity to own a smartphone and data plan (which are rare and expensive in abusive situations like my past). Making services available in places like libraries and community centers without requiring smartphones and Internet would help so many people who have no ability to use them - those people are just as human as you.

and by the way while we're at it: if we're effectively paywalling access to basic human rights behind an IP address and cellular radio, those should be enshrined as human rights too.

same, i've been very happy with Caddy, even with lots of subdomains and weird configs it's been rock solid.

i always found this to be upsetting as an IT tech at a former company - when a network or server had an issue and i was sent to resolve it, it was a "just reboot it" fix, which never kept the problem from recurring and bringing the server down at 07:00 the next Monday.

the limitations on the questions i could ask hurt that SLA more than any network switch's memory leak ever did, and i felt as if my expertise meant nothing as a result.

before i knee-jerk react to this, i need to know:

• source? give me a link at minimum, preferably a scientific journal since you're citing "the science" - much else isn't gonna make the cut here.
• if this is the case, why did i and my peers have crippling allergies for the entirety of my childhood? we spent tons of time around manure, thousands of hours literally walking in it. we still couldn't breathe outdoors without getting allergy symptoms.

edit: also, what does alleged lower incidence of allergies and "other autoimmune issues" have to do with the relation between playing around manure or drinking raw milk, and getting E.Coli infections/dying? those two are quite closely correlated, the "science" also shows that.

so when does a judge charge this guy with negligent homicide, the enforcement arm ignore it, and someone impersonate our favorite green Nintendo plumber?

i am in cybersecurity and IT. i saw a huge cyber attack on Bluetooth-enabled devices at an event a while back, and it put several people with Bluetooth-enabled insulin pumps in the hospital.

i recently discovered that a good friend of mine has an insulin pump. i am legitimately worried about her safety as a result, and even more so after seeing this.

there is most certainly a point where you must start fighting dirty, and i think it's time for us Americans to seriously start considering our use of that whole 2nd Amendment thing - murder is bad, obviously, but we are one of the most heavily armed populations in the world, and that means a lot.

+1 for this: I have very personal experience with an E.Coli outbreak in a small town in southern Utah in 2017. Although the infections did not come from raw milk directly, the infections were traced to the area where the milk was packaged - and albeit anecdotally, there were several related deaths over the years that I was aware of, that were never reported due to the...uh...unique religious background of the place.

so yeah, I mean...don't let your children play in manure but also...don't drink milk that you sanitize less than you sanitize your hands.

would be a shame if EMS were slow to respond to an emergent need for medical care for one Utah governor. why did they think this was a good idea??

anecdotally: given the number of people I've met who were both neurodivergent and absolutely adore trains, this seems incredibly likely.

not to mention many of those same people are just the type to have 200TB of music and a whole radio station in their backpack.
