Steam now tells gamers up front that they're buying a license, not a game
  • When you are six hours into playing Battlefield and you run out of ammo in your clip, and we ask you for a dollar to reload, you're really not very price sensitive at that point in time. A consumer gets engaged in a property, they might spend 10,20,30,50 hours on the game and then when they're deep into the game they're well invested in it. We're not gouging, but we're charging and at that point in time the commitment can be pretty high. But it is a great model and I think it represents a substantially better future for the industry.

I was reminded of this. They would if they could. I am glad i am not living in that timeline.

  • I want my smart Android TV to be dumb again
  • Wouldn't the android box, fire stick connecting the internet be doing the same thing that you don't want your smart TV to be doing?

I always always thought getting one of those was to either circumvent the TV OS limitation (Example LG webOS) or to improve user experience on entry level smart TV or older smart TV.

  • My mental health has improved after deleting games that have microtransactions in them
  • It is always such a satisfying feeling to loot the $999 weapon skin off your enemy dead body.

Thank you for spending on my behalf and letting me play this game as a f2p and for letting me use your rare skin.

I avoid any games that have p2w mtx but I can tolerate it somewhat if it is a PvE only or 'single player' like in Genshin-like games.

I dislike the practice of having mtx of any kind in pay to play games so I tend to avoid those too.

  • Can’t upgrade your PC to Windows 11? Buy a new one, is Microsoft’s laughable solution
  • Speaking of phones.

I just had to buy new ones recently for the older folks at home because of the lack of VOLTE support on their phones. Those phones were perfectly fine and adequate for their use case (basic call, message) and they wouldn't have to change phones if it were not for the 3G network termination.

Now they have new phones with functions that they will never ever use.

  • A Google breakup is on the table, say DOJ lawyers
  • Changes to the online advertising market would make online ads less valuable for publishers and merchants, and less useful for consumers.

If by useful they meant anything that is heavily promoted by Google ads get added on the 'will not touch with a 10 foot pole' list. Sure, I guess?

Also hinting at changing their business models, raise the cost of devices, should chrome or android be forced to break up.

Google blog response is exactly why this breakup should happen. They are getting out of control.

  • ‘Captain America: Brave New World' bombs at test screening
  • We can all agree End Game was peak MCU.

Spider-Man No Way Home is the only MCU movie that I really enjoyed watching in phrase 4-5.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was the last MCU I cared enough to watch in the theatre.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was good? but I can hardly recall what happened in that movie.

Most of the mini-series on Disney+ are forgettable. Loki season 2 was chef kiss and I want to see more of Moon Knight.

The recent Deadpool & Wolverine was dumb but it was lots of fun to watch.

I feel like those pre End Game characters are doing all the heavy lifting in current MCU. I don't find myself caring for most of the new characters that they are bringing in to set-up for the next big stage.

  • Smart TVs are like “a digital Trojan Horse” in people’s homes
  • I just wish there are options. I love to have one of those newer LG OLED without all the smart capabilities & additional hardware. Just a good screen that I can hook up to my PC and direct play all my shows and let the GPU handle all the necessary upscaling/tone mapping.

  • Ubisoft director blames gamers, says they've been exposed as 'non-decent humans'
  • I played plenty of Ubisoft games and I believe the only game I beat was Immortal fenyx rising. I like farcry 3 & black flag but I never got to finish playing because live service games took up all my game time.

I also tried AC Odyssey and Valhalla more than once and the longest I managed was under 20hr before calling it quits.

I don't hate their games I just don't enjoy playing them and I don't see myself buying anything Ubisoft because their games are just not my cup of tea as much i want it to be.
