Uh. Federal law is that cannabis is illegal, yet that doesn't stop sales. It does effect prosecution when feds decide to, for sure.
If you aren't spending time around people that complain about it, that makes sense. My mom is normally pretty quiet while my dad yells about whatever political issue, but this is one topic she gets vocally upset about as we're celebrating Christmas together literally every year. It's wild
Reminds me, there was a study done with brain scans to see if there was a difference between liberal and conservative brains. Conservatives have larger amygdalas on average, so makes sense that their fight or flight reactions are higher.
In theory, yes, but that should be the point of education and social programs tbh. Even then, restorative justice models don't rely as heavily on jail/prison. Temporary and maybe permanent removal from a specific environment doesn't have to require fully sequestering perpetrators from society. Caught early enough, extreme examples of violent individuals can be rehabilitated through house arrest and other programs like anger management, therapy, etc. Saves taxpayer money, reduces recidivism, and victims report much higher satisfaction as they can actually face their perpetrator and be more involved in the process seeking accountability.
In practice, prisons prop up class and racial segregation, perpetuating capitalist agendas.
I got the package deal with all of them over the summer and loved origins 😅 been working my way through them all to get ready for the new one. I was thinking I'd go this route of getting it and returning if I saw ads, but based on comments about the company having rape apologists I might need to do some more research before even bothering to take that risk

You can still own guns in Australia, at least. It just requires applying for permits. I don't get why people would be opposed to that
I asked my parents to get me evaluated as a kid and my mom said it wasn't real. At 32, I got evaluated and was diagnosed. Told my dad today and he's like "no shit? You got it from me" Well thanks for sticking up for me as a kid, dad lol
Yeah, and that something can be communicated. But at the end of the day it's their job. I follow a therapist on YouTube that talks about his wife's modeling career on occasion and he never really cared. He saw the work that goes into it and knows it's just that - work. I think on the rare occasions it did bring up some feelings of jealousy he communicated the insecurity and got reassurance from her. That obviously worked well enough that they've been married a couple decades.
On the work end, keep in mind how many times they have to shoot scenes/photos and how extremely unromantic/inauthentic it is.

For anyone struggling here in the US, I highly recommend looking into alcoholics/narcotics anonymous or SMART recovery (a secular version of AA/NA). They're free! I know it's not for everyone, but just want to put it out there in case there's people unaware. You're not alone, and it can help to have the community 💜
I've considered checking into rehab recently or just a mental health institution, but the idea of the cost is enough to keep me pushing through without. I have experience with SMART recovery, though, if anyone has questions. They use evidence based tools with most of it available for free online. The workbook is like $10. It has made a difference, but it can feel overwhelming and takes time.
