What YouTubers did you used to watch back then but not anymore?
  • Veritasium. Over time I realized his content is mostly about flashy half baked "sciencey" content like Discovery Channel. It's meant to get an audience and nothing more. It lacks quality control, and fact checking. I only realized how many errors his videos have when he covered a topic I know more about. Also, the whole electricity thing and self driving car debacle only reinforced my views on his content.

  • US bans Kaspersky antivirus software due to 'national security risk'
  • Thanks for the link. The article is a whole lot of nothingburger. The entire premise of the article is that Kaspersky works as intended (just as any other security software) to flag files with certain phrases. Therefore, it can be used to find classified markings. Therefore, Kaspersky is bad... What?

So we should just ban all security software?

Why is it so hard to find a single piece of evidence that Kaspersky fucked up, or that their software has something in particular that is more risky compared to other security software. Anyone with more knowledge can explain plz?

Sounds like there is some other motive for doing this. Or they found something they aren't willing to tell us. But why?

  • Gamers Nexus | Confronting ASUS Face-to-Face
  • Please watch the video, it's worth it over all the dumb shit we spend time on online. Tech Jesus was able to get the attention of the highest level of management responsible for customer service and got them to make (12) tangible commitments to their customers who were screwed by ASUS.

He did it very professionally and in an effective way, and constantly maintained the goal of the discussion (which you can tell is not to make inflammatory and accusatory content that will get clicks, but to get his viewers proper support and refunds from ASUS).

I've never seen a YouTube channel go to this length to actually take an action against a company for a specific issue in the interest of the consumers and get results (as opposed to just making videos to bring awareness).

  • Advanced detection tech boosts F-22 radar signature 60,000 times
  • The article didn't bother to link the paper. Also odd way to put it to say it "increases signature". Like, have they found a way to throw radar reflecting goo on the F-22?

No, this is essentially about networked radars. Which would be interesting if they bothered to discuss the tech. I suppose I'll wait for Sandboxx News to cover it.

  • Is it possible to "find" in comments or post?

I'm talking about a Ctrl+F type of find functionality that highlights and scrolls to next item as you it "next".

    Thread comment bar color change

Sorry idk what it's called. I'm talking about the vertical line on the left of comments that starts red and changes each level down until blue.

Is it possible to change this? Maybe going from blue to red instead? Or just a gradient of theme color?
