I don't like it. Changing one element is not supposed to influence all others. I put windows into predefined positions and sizes via hotkeys (and I set a font sizes to get specific line lengths) and I would violently rip every peace of code out of my system, that dares to override my orders.
You can tell it to show the full path in the title under configure, startup, general.
At least in theory. I don't let it handle devices. But I would expect it to show something like "/mnt/devicename/". Does not work for tabs tho.

I don't think it's very useful. Easily changeable default choices should make the most notable differences. The filesystem for example. Another big factor should be the configuration and the version of the kernel and it probably changes more between updates than between distributions.
