Music streaming service that doesn't advertise to me?
  • I would suggest using InnerTune and ViMusic, which are free and open-source client for YouTube Music, if you don't want to let Google advertise on you.

However, you may need to build your music library all over again, as they doesn't support import from your YouTube Music library.

If you already switched to Spotify, then you consider Spotube and BladePlayer which seems are free open-source Spotify client, although I haven't tried these two.

  • Why do you use firefox?
    1. It's faster
    2. It's not chromium-based
    3. It can protect you from trackers and block ads
    4. Chrome may terminates Adblock-functionality extensions in Manifest V3 and Firefox wouldn't, afaik

  • They just removed all the spam communities (or mags) (and also removed spam kbin accounts), and one of the kbin mods said the 2fa is on the roadmap.

  • Are there any fellow teens that have de-Googled and removed all social media?
  • I tried to used a de-googled smartphone with custom rom installed (LineageOS) year ago. However, some apps, like banking apps insist me to install from Play Store or the app will not run, at all. I was forced to switch back to my old phone with Google on it.

I still have that de-googled phone on hand, it is a Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
