  • No idea what happens nowadays also probably depends on your location too, but a friend of mine downloaded fallout 4 when it released and his isp disabled their houses internet until he went to a web page and checked off a box saying "i have deleted the following file(s) from my machine" lol

It was a tame outcome relatively speaking, but it could have been worse.

  • But they spent far too long mysticizing and building up the epstein files and importantly it reflected a value that they collectively held - to protect the children.

This is the part that mind boggles me. I think the issue is that I keep thinking with broad strokes rather than MAGA as sub groups.

Generally speaking, I don't think Maga cares about children overall, but some must.

    -Education cuts

    -school lunch cuts

-People against "hand outs" like food stamps

    -The general American Healthcare system

-People who are anti abortion who then don't support adoption or who wouldn't adopt a child themselves etc.

I just find it so weird that this is the line they draw when Trump has been so outwardly creepy for decades.

*sorry for my shitty mobile formatting

  • I have purchased far more than I've ever obtained. In some cases I've double dipped and purchased multiple times.

The main issue is "can I obtain it legally and pay the original creators?" And secondary is "is this item reasonably priced and delivered in an accessible way?".

The last game I grabbed was the Sims 4 + dlc a very very long time ago. The last show i grabbed was probably an anime with fan subtitles.

  • That sounds frustrating! I've been seeing similar messages on various comment sections now. You would think there would be some kind of QA testing prior to launching this lol.

Kinda not surprising though, because youtube seems to launch experiments very haphazardly.

  • I'm not sure why but I'm able to disable them on mobile. The tricky part is guessing what the original track is. I'm on YT premium which might be why?

I think the ideal functionality would be having (ORIGINAL) next to the audio track that isn't dubbed and have that set to the default setting.

I think if they can get the dubbing correct and actually working as intended, that would be incredible for opening up cultures for everyone. I think crossing language barriers is really cool.

  • I think that's really interesting. I often think about these moments of community/humanity. The closest I can get is if I have a nice conversation with a neighbor if I have the time. Or finding like-minded people online to chat with.

Smartphones became common place in my last year of high-school, but even at that point mobile data plans weren't large enough to cause a major impact, but community gathering spots were already gone by that point where I live, so school was the community place. Once I graduated, that was gone. Very weird time to grow up. I'm meeting a lot of people in their early 20's now who don't even have the luxury of remembering those simpler times.

It feels super odd because it seems reminiscent of old stories passed down from generations. I hope that this trend ends positively in the future and that the future youth remember these terrible years as a paragraph in a history book and how we overcame these issues.

  • Sorry I don't have a way to help. I noticed this changed recently as well and was really frustrated by it.

Believe it or not, a decade ago, EA support was actually good. I know it sounds insane but I had the BEST customer service call with someone from the Midwest US. I was trying to get into the time trials in the game Mirrors Edge. For some reason, I was getting a weird connection error.

I spoke to this customer service rep who walked me through some bizarre steps, which seemed effectively like clearing the cache of my xbox. All the while, we just shot the shit and discussed games. It was just a casual call, she was genuinely helpful and SO efficient.

At the end of it I didn't wana hang up the phone LOL. It was the best customer service call I've ever had and it kills me knowing that they axed these people at some point. It was a call that I think is rare to experience nowadays with service reps being overworked and monitored to hell and back.

  • I was going to say "but someone could post a picture with the date and their username" and then realized that can be spoofed. And then I thought what about some kind of video? Wait that could probably be spoofed too.

Maybe you could have it so only real people could get in via word of mouth? But eventually I'm sure someone with bad intentions could enter

  • I've been streaming recently, and one thing that stands out to me is when you first boot up a game and it doesn't have a start menu with settings.

I noticed it before, but now I really notice it. If something is wrong with the settings, sometimes that intro is unplayable or a less than optimal experience. So you have to try and skip, fix the issue, and then restart the game and try again. This seems to be more of a PC issue than a console issue, but even on consoles sometimes you need to adjust things like brightness or add subtitles

  • Gaming @beehaw.org

Forza Horizon 5 will be coming to PS5. Likely other xbox exclusives will too.
