Fuck around and find out that stocking shelves for a one day event with cheap plastic crap that isnāt selling well is a bad idea?
āHelp help, Iām being repressed!ā
This article could have had a number of different headlines, like:
āItās Time to End Magical Thinking That Turning a Blind Eye to a Psychopath will Make Them See the Error of Their Waysā
Or maybe:
āWe Made Fun of Communism for Years, but Those Cheeky Fucker Are A Bit Tougher Than We Thought, and Iām Bored Nowā.
For fucks sake we tried ignoring the travesty of Russia annexing a chunk of Europe in 2014. Ignored Putins goons shooting passenger planes out of the sky. And weāre expected to believe This Time it Will Turn Out Different.
Fucking muppets.
Great and all, but this is a literal press release. It could be PR spruiking, it could be pumpānādump play, it could be friggin genuinely great. No way to know from a press release.
Three men walk into a bar. The American says, āactually thatās only 1 3/23 men in FreedomTM unitsā.
Itās mass that holds heat. Rammed earth is great if you donāt let it get too hot (so needs shading), or if itās insulated (the best way).
For almost all of Australia bar the tropical north, the best construction is insulated mass - ie cladding (lightweight or not), then a cavity, then loads of insulation and a Vapor membrane, then masonry.
This is one area where Apple has it pretty right. A Mac will do somethings when āasleepā like download emails and texts. It also can broadcast its location if the āFind Meā function is on. If itās plugged into power then backups will also run, and background app updates will happen. It does this in a low power mode, so it wonāt get hot enough to need fans. Itās worked flawlessly for 20 years. Meanwhile all our PCs are set to ānever sleepā and just get shutdown when not in use. I never trust a PC laptop to wake successfully from sleep just by closing the lid.
Itās not even quite that - the article suggested they raised the commercial equivalent of the 12% through competitive auction. These allow the bidders a set price over 20 years.
So itās cheaper than buying in fossil fuels, the suppliers get certainty, and they achieve close to complete decarbonisation using private investment.
How good is that?
Iām not being facetious or unkind here, but for many 10ās of thousands of years we have been developing meaningful social circles by seeing people in person. Just give it a go!
Itās a big WHOOOSH, but I actually do respect all the people getting as far as reading āhttps://twitā¦āā¦ and saying āfuck thatā.
No. Hydrogen peroxide is the best disinfectant. Beats sunlight by a long long margin.
Bleaching Nazis on the internet is basically what OP is calling for, and by your own analogy, theyāre right.
Dude. Itās an app, not your wife.
Maximally hilarious.
The whole premise of ads on Twitter is that theyāre targeted.
IBM donāt sell consumer crap. They sell smoke and mirrors to major governments and industry. Theyāre chasing jobs worth millions per pop. They want ads to target the people making those decisions.
Mate, come on, thatās not fair at all. Get your head out of your arse.
ABC have been covering this heaps. They broke the Afghan files story in the first place. Adele Furgheson has literally been writing articles about whistleblowers and David McBride for weeks in the lead up to this. Latest one from looking at the ABC website here: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-11-18/david-mcbride-guilty-plea-whistleblower-protection/103120544
Fairfax is also literally the news link at the top of the OP post here!
There are always excellent reports coming from the ABC & Fairfax with a quality of investigative work that FJ doesnāt even come close to matching. ABC & Fairfax may have their faults, but this is not one of them.
Itās not the onion, itās The Chaser who are based in Australia. And I guarantee they donāt give a shit.
The good old Google way. Iāve no idea why so many people are so willing to hand over everything to them. Say what you like about Apple, but at least theyāre not selling your personal info.
Weird take, whatās your beef? They most certainly do slap on huge fines, and are much more aggressive about enforcing privacy requirements than the US/etal.
This is kinda like cursing the worlds fastest sprinter for just not running fast enough.
Exactly. Itās all sympathy for the devil platitudes.
I donāt see this being very popular in Australia. It misses the mark for why people buy a Ute or dual cab here.
Ahhh, Port Kembla. I mean itās already a whale graveyard what with all those massive container ships chopping them up all year and the massive sewer outfall gassing them out. A few measly pylons just adds a bit of spice to the game!
