More Americans are becoming 'house poor' due to high housing costs
  • That $2,000 a month can also raise if you've included property taxes and insurance in the payment. If you're not including property taxes and insurance then you're not really doing a full comparison.

  • How does it feel being in a relationship?
  • Mid 30s isn't "old as fuck".

That being said, not everyone is destined to be in a relationship. Some people are just socially awkward or annoying to be around and don't have either the guidance or desire to change.

Some people don't even realize that they are annoying or off-putting to others, and so they can't understand why no one will be their friend or get into a relationship with them. Sometimes they tend to blame other people as the problem instead of themselves.

Minneapolis housing policies defeat NIMBYs, inflation

If you build it, inflation will drop, is Minneapolis' message to America's housing market.

    > "I can’t tell you how many people were like, ‘Oh, look at all this supply, look at all these just brand new buildings,’ and kind of scoffing at it like this was going to lead to gentrification or rents skyrocketing,” said Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, a two-term Democrat, in an interview. “The exact opposite has happened.”

This is one of those "well duh" moments... Obviously more supply leads to lower prices. This is Economics 101!

City-owned lot site of illegal dumping
www.wisn.com City-owned lot site of illegal dumping

Neighbors say they've complained for weeks of mattresses and furniture.

Litter/illegal dumping is one of the top 3 issues affecting Milwaukee. (The other 2 being shootings and reckless driving.)

    > "It's kind of like people are realizing that they can kind of get away with it so it seems like people are following the lead of it, they realize they can dump their stuff there. So now it's kind of accumulating," said neighbor Mark Choinski.

This is the problem. People think they can get away with stuff, so they keep doing whatever benefits them without regard to their fellow citizens.

This is a city lot, so the city is responsible for cleaning it up. (The cost of which is shared by the taxpayers.) People will dump on private property then the owner gets saddled with the cost of cleanup.

A small business on Milwaukee's north side was crashed into over the weekend. It's the third time the shop has been hit by a car in as many years.

Milwaukee business crashed into for a third time in as many years, Alderman reacts

    > Westmoreland: "Bad. I mean it's a domino effect. One business leaves, other businesses could leave. That's the last thing we want."

    > He's hoping policy changes and the new 2% sales tax increase, set to take effect in January, can help combat the destruction.

It's not only businesses leaving the area, which makes people want to leave the area, but also increased costs for the entire community. There's more costs for putting in extra "traffic calming measures". There's extra costs for repairs to damage caused by reckless drivers. There's loss of life. There's increased insurance rates if you own a car in Milwaukee.

    > He hopes the sales tax increase can also help add more police to the force to help hold people accountable.

    Hopefully!

Dozens of concrete islands are popping up on Milwaukee streets to prevent people from passing on the right, but the Department of Public Works says the curb bump-outs have created another challenge.

    > Kevin Muhs is the city engineer. He says the bump-out poles have been smashed more times than DPW anticipated.

I predicted these wouldn't work and now we see that not only do they NOT stop people from speeding and driving recklessly, it costs additional tax dollars to fix them. The money used installing these things should have gone towards enforcement instead.

It's so important for the police to connect with the community, especially children. This is why it's great news that police officers will be back in Milwaukee public schools.

www.fox6now.com Milwaukee man charged, aimed gun at officers during standoff

A Milwaukee man has been criminally charged – accused of pointing a firearm at officers in Milwaukee on Tuesday, July 18.

    > Officers eventually observed smoke coming from the residence – and it was determined that Harrell had set fire to his own living room. Harrell eventually jumped out of a window and was taken into custody. A caged dog was rescued by police from the living room where the fire was started.

Setting a fire in a room with a caged dog who had no way to escape? What a piece of trash.
