Need help figuring out the configuration

Hey all! I currently use two external USB drives to backup photos from our camera/phones. I basically copy new photos/videos to both hard drives manually creating a mirror copy. I am looking into other options but I'm not sure which would be a better approach. My options are:

  1. Continue doing what I do now (i.e. manually copy to each drive)
  2. Create a RAID using MacOS' built-in RAID setup so I only see both hard drives as one
  3. Get a multi-bay enclosure and either continue doing #1 or setup a RAID via MacOS. This would eliminate some clutter from the desk.

One question I have about the RAID setup is, if I were to take one of the hard drives and attach it to a different computer, would I still be able to access the files?

I'd appreciate your help. Thank you.

Best solution for backing up photos

Hey all! So, currently I use two 8TB external drives to backup photos (camera, phones, etc.) I basically copy new photos to both drives to create a mirror copy. Is there a way I can have this done automatically rather than backing up to two drives manually? Is DAS a good solution for this? I do not want the drives accessible via network.
