[Fewture request] in app system browser
  • Like cheese_greater mentioned, I believe any in-app browsing in iOS uses a version of Safari; you can’t open a similar Firefox or Brave mini-browser in-app, you can only send them the link and switch.

  • Last weekend, I told my wife how damn handy I was after fixing her shower mixer. Not five minutes later, I loosened a screw that caused the mixer to blow out and me to do a 200 yard dash to shut the water off before the wall and basement flooded. Two hours of cleanup ensued.

    Sometimes I’m a fuckin’ idiot.

  • The new Sony Walkman costs more than you think, here's why
  • I unironically love my beats fit pro for phone calls and any kind of workout or yard work. They aren’t my best sounding headphones, but they’re the most versatile and stay put in my Dumbo sized ear holes.

If you haven’t done it already, there’s a calibration in iOS that will set a sound balance to your liking. That solves a lot of the overpowering bass that Beats loves to use.

  • Isn’t a drivers license’s exact purpose to confirm that you’ve been trained, and also not had your privilege revoked?

Other than paying $30 every 8 years to renew it, what is the burden? I didn’t even have to go to the DMV to renew this year; they used my picture from last time and mailed it.

I realize it’s not that easy everywhere, or for everyone, but I’ve also been in an accident where a 17 year old girl was crippled for life because her driver was fucking around and found out. The last thing we need is less accountability for drivers, especially as cars go electric and their weights are almost doubling.

  • The .world blog: June overview
  • Your frequent and honest updates on the state of things are a big part of what makes .world my new favorite idle scroll. It’s refreshing and stands in stark contrast to Reddit’s behavior and communication this year.

Thank you for all that you and the team of volunteers do for this developing online community!

  • Let's talk about something else
  • I’ve been pleasantly impressed with Manjaro after using it for a month now, coming from Kubuntu. I’ve been running some flavor of Ubuntu for about a year after ditching Windows.

There’s plenty of available packages (between repos, flatpak, snap, and AUR), good user support via the Arch wiki and googling, and it’s just more stable for me.

I’d heard that Manjaro is Arch for cowards, and I’m very comfortable with that choice.

  • Republican attorneys general issue warning letter to Target about Pride merchandise
  • If they thought an actual law was broken by Target’s Pride clothing, they wouldn’t be sending a Karen stunt letter to corporate. They’d prosecute - which is, y’know, their job.

Here’s a rallying cry that the GOP might recognize - stop trying to parent my kids. If they want to wear Pride rainbow shirts and Satanic kitty headbands, that’s my prerogative to say yes or no. Freedom of my religion also means freedom from your religion.
