You can’t even pay people to have more kids
  • My oldest daughter is a bit over 6 years older than our baby. I might ask her to do something similar to what you are describing. Most people on here seem to think helping the family out equals trauma because birthing someone automatically means you retain full responsibility for them existing. It's more complicated than that and I think the thing people are mad about is choosing to have kids in a way that you expect them to take care of each other.

  • You can’t even pay people to have more kids
  • I am you. I have two kids and fucking hell our expenses are getting out of control. Fortunately we spaced them out enough that only one is in day/preschool. But it's still basically impossible to justify my wife being employed with only our youngest kid's expenses. Looking at $2.5k per month of childcare expenses for one kid makes me want to give up.

My state, Oregon, passed a leave law that is currently saving our lives. Extra 4 weeks of leave that can be taken intermittently. We are financially fucked the moment we are out of our state leave. For reference I have an MS in ME and work in manufacturing. And my wife is one of the highest paid dental assistants I'm aware of.

  • What is no-fault divorce, and why do some conservatives want to get rid of it? | CNN
  • My mom slept around for 20+ years of marriage, was emotionally abusive to her kids, and never did much if it didn't further her public image. From the outside she looked great, but now she is on the never talks to me again list. My dad was the primary breadwinner by a large margin, cooked dinner every night, coached multiple of our sports teams, taught us to drive, volunteered at our school several times per year, and was so calm I can only remember one time where he lost his temper. He basically raised us as a single father and never wanted to divorce because he was determined to break the cycle. He sounds fake when I type it out.

The settlement after two years of lawyering, and only one of the kids being not an adult at 17 years old, was ridiculous. He took on all of the debt, took care of all the kids, paid all 3 kids child support until we were 21, paid my mom alimony of over $2k, she took half the shit out of our house, and gave her a free basically new car. Oh and he paid for her apartment for a year. This was after talking the judge down for months.

We were firmly middle class, like $150k gross in the 2010's when this played out. I had to pay for our groceries a few times because of this fucked up system. It basically fucks the good parent into the ground for a sense of equality.

  • Trump, Who Destroyed Roe, Thinks He Can Run As an Abortion 'Moderate' in 2024
  • Entering an argument in good faith with someone who obviously is arguing in bad faith is pointless. The biggest problem is often that those who make bad faith arguments don't know they are doing so. Instead they lean into semantics to justify making bad faith arguments. Then start doing the "no u" thing before they start whining.

I choose to yell first because it triggers these types of defensive responses they would do anyways at the end of a good faith discussion. Kind of like splashing the antichrist with holy water so we can just know who they are.

  • Many voters are weary about a Biden-Trump rematch in 2024. Third parties hope they can fill the gap
  • Lots of words to explain away bad decision making. Our system is broken because we have a Nazi party and a conservative party. If not voting gives more power to the Nazis, then you voted for them. I'll vote conservative(Dems) and be happy I'm not helping the Nazis. Absolutism only helps Nazis rise to power.

Edit: you are making assumptions about how my thanksgiving happens.

  • Eh, kind of. I can't live my truth unless my family is safe. The ballot step is huge, it is between us and violence. That violence is the thing I want to avoid. I'm not above being violent but for me personally I can be more damaging by pretending to be something I'm not.

I fully support you pushing for change, during the primary. I do the same. After that fucking do the right thing.

  • Many voters are weary about a Biden-Trump rematch in 2024. Third parties hope they can fill the gap
  • Be heated all you want. You are still acting the way Republicans want. Voting third party is a part of their wet dreams.

Collaborator is a funny thing to call me. I am good at pretending to be Republican, which I will continue to do for my kid's sake. Is it right? IDK. Like I said before life is complex and IDK what is going to happen in the future.

  • I honestly don't care. My comment was deleted I'm guessing because it was moderately critical of Israel, which isn't allowed here.

Your first paragraph betrays your useless argument. Relative comparison is always useless is my original argument. Typing that much is a waste of chat gpt.

  • Many voters are weary about a Biden-Trump rematch in 2024. Third parties hope they can fill the gap
  • It's surprising how complicated life is. I've cut off multiple family members but I can't control who is invited all the time dumbass. Stop being dense.

Republicans love you for voting third party. And would put you in the camps with my educated ass.

  • Some Republicans Were Willing to Compromise on Abortion Ban Exceptions. Activists Made Sure They Didn't.
  • I have some sympathy for her but she needs to wake up. The begging she is doing is part of what Republicans want. In their belief system women are beneath men and they should stop complaining. She won't rise anywhere and may die from complications during birth that could have been prevented if her states laws didn't exist. Fuck every Republican voter who allowed her suffering, but my sympathy waivers when you cause your own pain.
